Some of you may have seen my thread Citoyens français, where I try to get help persuading French people to sell me a truck.
Out and about today and the very truck I'm after is in a front garden near me!
Looks good, almost rust free and is, I'm assured, a good runner.
But, (you knew there was a but, didn't you!), it's not UK registered and it's unknown how long since it was imported from France. The seller has been driving it (although rarely) on trade plates, taken it to a few shows, but not much more than that.
He inherited it and although he's tried to register it, he's been unable to find a way through the DVLA maze, I suspect he's not to the type to spend time filling in forms and has only phoned, he's also not "tech savvy", so no reading of GOV.UK websites.
Now because no-one knows how long it's been in the country and it came from another EU country and it's classed as a goods vehicle, what problems could I run into if I try to register it?
Thanks
Andy
