I was dreaming about Lada wagon until I saw pictures of this car. And luckily it was for sale so I had to buy it. Specially in this condition these are hard to find. Interior was also in good shape. Especially that dash is usually burned by the sun. Car came without engine and transmission. I managed to find 1600tc engine with 5-speed transmission and rear end with disc brakes from 132 Fiat. Tc engines are hard to find and expensive because they are used in folk races here in Finland. I took engine in parts and now I’m putting it back together with new piston rings and bearings. Test fitted some Alfa Romeo wheels for it. They might be worth of taking the paint of and repaint. Thanks for reading this long story. I’ll be updating when the project goes on.

I've been a Fiat adept all my life, driven 100's of them, but never ever seen one like this in my life. Well done!! The holy grail!! Bookmarked!

Such a nice shape on this. From the side it almost looks like an intended prototype Lada before a production Lada got watered down, in a BMC/BL sort of way. I'm trying to imagine it bumperless and slammed, but don't do that please, its too rare.

Most 60s Fiats dissolved faster than 70s Alfasuds. The fact that this one is so good is incredible, it must have been stored well for years, I cannot believe it has lived most of its life outside! I remember these in saloon form, very rare here, even back in the day. Great find!

Cool car!! I knew the saloon existed but never a wagon. I love the faded patina to the paint, Twin cam engine is a good idea too. I don't like the FWD Alfa wheels though, too flat,I'm sure you'll find something better.

Looks good and solid, Fiats of this era in Britain dissolved in the rain, looking forward to seeing your progress.

As the saloon they are known as the Fiat Crusader in New Zealand. Fitted with the 1500 engine and were locally assembled. We had one as a family car in the '70s

Here is another test with different wheels. But I think these are going to my fiat 850 coupe. This is not going to be slammed but it needs to be lowered. I also like that patina so I’m not repainting the car. I heard from the guy I bought this that this car has been stored inside somewhere in 80’s. And it was couple years outside before he bought it. In Finland old cars used to rust away really fast esspecially because salting the roads in winter.
