Only experience I’ve had is my apprentice bought a 3/8 gun 1/2 gun and the bigger batteries to go with it, the 1/2 gun struggled to take wheel bolts out, was told by Kielder to let it bed in but it got no better so they asked for it back to repair. Once he got it back it only lasted an hour before it stopped working, swapped batteries with no difference so he took it back to machine mart who swapped it for another due to the hassle he’d had. He sold all of it on and bought snap on instead. 4 years later no issues with batteries or the guns and they are used in a busy workshop. My Kielder also struggled with wheelbolts, and that was the 1/2" 430Nm version. I was told the same. I since sold it to a friend, albeit warned him about that, and have bought a DeWalt DCH899N. It's heavier which is one downside. However, it is mostly untroubled by most things, when using impact sockets. The kielder 1/2” gun mentioned above has just died making a noise like it’s eating itself from the inside out. I suppose some people would thinks that’s not bad value considering it’s now been through 3 different techs hands. Still wouldn’t take wheels off though!

Well I guess it had to happen, one of my friends used the aforementioned impact gun remarking on how good it was, next time I picked it up that doesn't sound right, not as powerful as it should be, changed the battery nope, guess that's going back.
Phoned Kielder, After a few questions, and was asked if I wanted the return label sending by email or snail mail.
I packed it up, dropped it off at a DPD collection point which happens to be on my way home from work on the 23rd(I had just missed the pickup van), it arrived at Kielder on the 28th, I got an email on the 1st saying it was due for delivery next day.
When I opened the box there was a couple of sheets of paper, saying it had needed a motor/winding change, and it had been tested and inspected.
Now that's good service.
And I can confirm its back to its old self. Dan
