When it was 2009 and I was posting about my 1991 astra gte, that would be retro
Weird isn't it, we've discussed this to infinity but more modern cars don't seem to age!

So with the house move I've had zero time to do any work on the car but that hasn't stopped me buying bits for the car. First up us some red '6' badges bought for the price of a pint from a mate. And then spotting that Euro Car Parts were selling off some old stock I went and bought the following for £126! •Front discs •Front pads •Rear discs •Rear pads •Cambelt kit •Waterpump •Thermostat •Passenger fog light Moving day was on Friday so once all the furniture was in then it was time to sort the toys out Here she is in her home for the next few weeks while I sort the house out And finally just for reference how big modern hot hatches are after 20 years

It's strange that i have seen quite a few threads on different sites debating whether cars have actually got bigger over the years.
In my opinion though you cannot argue with the photos. I would think a Clio would be equivalent market to a 106, and the 306 equivalent to the Megane? Yet the modern Clio dwarfs the classic 306. Inside feels just as spacious in the older smaller cars. Probably goes to show the amount of entertainment and safety gear the cars now have.

Park a Nova next to a new Corsa, mk2 Golf next to a mk7, Cavalier mk2 next to an Insignia etc.. and it is staggering the increase in size! No wonder there aint room in carparks now
Passed my test in a phase 1 306D in 2001. My mate had a gti-6 which died on the M6 heading back to Scotland with a rod leaving the block flat out! lol!
Has been bookmarked already and keeping an eye out for more updates!

Baring in mind the Mk2 estate was a smidgen under 9 inches longer than a mk2 hatchback....

Looking good!
I suspect light design became less innovative bar the tech itself after the 90s.
