Not achieved a great deal lately. Have completed the block work, and fitted the window and personnel door. Next move I is the 4m wide by 4.5m Tall roller shutter. I won’t be utilising it’s full height, no need for it, maybe 3m will be more than enough for my requirements.
Should hopefully have the Roofing sheets here in the next few weeks too.
Maybe a challenge to get a calm enough day to fit them though.
A roller shutter is never too tall in my opinion, you don't always have to open it fully. Full height access may prove especially useful should you decide to create an attic at some point. You can start looking for forklifts now.
Speaking as someone with an 11’ high lorry, I concur with the “it can never be too high” sentiment. You already have the door, putting it in at its full height saves you block work and time. Even if you never open it fully, at least you could if you needed to.
Re- the roller door have you thought about maybe building a kinda pedestrian door to accommodate the A frame. Just make a box frame from C channel, hinged from the door pillar with a small steel door hinged inside the frame so when the van is away the door can be closed. You can place some roller door channel across the frame and down the side to allow the lower 5 or 6 slats to be guided to the floor. Nice build by the way. This but on a smaller scale.
