How tedious is painting breeze block 🥱 especially after a 14hr day at work. Only one pillar and the section of wall where the ramps and axel stand live then on to painting the floor at the weekend hopefully.

Did you paint a sealing coat first? I've used watered down pva glue before, seals the pores making the first coat of actual paint stick rather than get sucked into the block.
To be honest I just painted over whatever the previous owner had painted. It seems to have stuck well and stayed white so that will do me. With the floor I used Leyland trade floor paint. Swept and then blew all the dust out, followed by a 50:50 mix of paint and white spirit. After 2 days then a full coat of straight paint.
