**SOLD PENDING PAYMENT & COLLECTION 02/02/20**
Once again, I've come to the reluctant decision to sell my lovely Nissan Maxima. Another car has become available which I'd like very much, actually very, very much, so sadly the Maxima has to go to make room and release funds.
I originally bought this car in 2015, having 20 months or so improving and upgrading the car with some smart 17" Rota style wheels with Falken tyres , and some rare USDM parts like wind deflectors, US front corners with the orange flash, US front grille with floating burger badge. It benefits from a front strut brace and some Eibach lowering springs on the front to equal out the arch gaps between the fronts and rears. All the original parts replaced will still be with the car upon sale ie original grille, original wheels, springs etc.
Here's my build thread if you want to read my progress from purchase.....

When my wife and I decided to open a coffee shop of our own during 2018, I made the reluctant decision to sell the car to raise funds towards the shop. I sold it to a local aquaintance. He kept it in storage for approximately 2 years, then a deal was struck in July 2019 where I got the Maxima back in a swap deal for one of my Datsun Stanzas. I was a happy bunny to get it back, and I truly love this car. However, as usually happens, there's always something that crops up and hard decisions have to be made. Two years of storage was good for the car in most ways, however, when I got it back I noticed a slight drip of automatic transmission fluid. It's not major, and the level hardly moves from month to month.
The car was displayed at the NEC in November 2019, and attracted a huge amount of interest.
One of only 6 left in the UK.
Top of Nissan's UK range between 1988 and 1994.
83,000 miles
MOT until 12th August 2020
3 litre V6 (170bhp)
30mpg if you drive carefully
Automatic with power and economy modes
17" Rota style alloys with grey centres and Nissan centre caps
Falken tyres all round with tons of tread
Private Plate (J30 MXM) can stay with the car for the asking price.
Electric ariel in rear wing still works
Power steering
Cruise Control
Climate Control
Air-con (needs regas)
Full black leather interior, with electric adjustment
Electric Windows (x4) (drivers window has a separate button for auto one touch up/down).
Electric Sunroof
Electric Mirrors
Remote release for the boot and fuel flap
Four newly refurbished calipers, plus new discs and pads front and rear at time of the last MOT
Original two piece head unit present (although CD player section needs a code and has a couple of buttons missing). Radio works perfectly.
Central locking with the key works on all four doors.
All four calipers were removed last summer, and sent off to caliper specialist Big Red in Worcester. They totally refurbished them and powder coated them gold. The brakes have a slightly soft feel to them, they aren't 'aggresive' in any way if you know what I mean. They work perfectly, so maybe the feel of them is to do with the newly refurbed calipers, and new discs and pads all round at the time of the MOT.
Two keys
Lowered at the front with rare USA sourced Eibach lowering springs (rear springs will go with the car)
USDM Front Corners with orange flash
USDM Meshed and badge-less grille
USDM floating burger badge grille will also go with the car
USDM dial cluster will go with the car
USDM Wind deflectors (rare)
New battery 06/19
Replacement bonnet struts 01/17
Strut brace
All auxiliary belts etc replaced in 2017
One injector sourced from USA. Runs super smoothly
Bad bits to be honest:
*Slight ATF leak. A drip or two a day, and changes barely register on the dipstick. Possibly a dried seal from sitting in storage for two years recently.
*The rear OS window is propped up inside the doorcard. I bought two new window regulators last year. The one fitted to the NS front window fixed that one. The one for the OS rear window worked for about 10 times up and down, the failed again. Could be a simple relay or fuse issue.
*Crack in the sunroof glass, but it's not moved a millimetre in my ownership.
*The end of the drivers side sill has a touch of surface rust, but it's not structural.
*One sidelight doesn't work when the ignition is on, but it works when the engine is off. The main beam works fine, so the side light issue has never bothered me as I either have only the main beam on or off.
*A few tiny little imperfections (small dents or scratches), so I wouldn't call it truly 'mint', but the imperfections are very small, and you only see them if you know they are there. Just being honest.
*The timing belt was replaced at 61,515 miles, so only 20,000 miles ago, but it was ten years ago, so should really be done. New timing belt and tensioner are supplied with the car.
*There's not a great deal of paper history with the car. I have all the recent receipts, and there's most of the MOT'S back to 2002. I've collected some original brochures and manuals too.
To sum up: A rare old Nissan, a real head turner, only 6 left, low mileage, top of the range spec and cracking condition.
Price: Difficult to value. Interest in all things Japanese is increasing year by year, as are values, and I recently saw one of these in a classic car dealers in the South of England with an asking price of £6000. With these factors in mind, I'm looking for £2750....now £2000 - ** NOW SOLD TO A FELLOW RETRO RIDES MEMBER PENDING PAYMENT & COLLECTION **, which I think is a fair price considering it's condition and rarity. SENSIBLE offers considered from fellow Retro Riders of course.
