	Boring I know but who here has stand alone insurance on thier unit/tools? I do but I'm not happy with the increasing cost and general disinterest of the insurer in the specific situation. I'm not running a buisness but they seem to want to make up a load of stuff to make me fit thier small buisness insurance framework. They don't actually seem interested in what I have or am doing tho. Theres no interest in inspections or anything like that which seems strange and I'm a bit worried the whole thing is a waste of time and they would never pay out if the worst happens. Does anyone have a policy coving thier unit as a 'non business'? I'm mainly interested in covering tools and equipment but buildings and public liability would be a good idea too.

	The only way I could get cover was to roll it up into one policy at the time I wasn't a trading has a business but I had the workshop / tools / equipment (that my household insurance would not cover in full) but I also had several vehicles - the combined policy effectively became a 'Motor Traders' policy of which you are trying avoid - I tried several different routes but in the end the collective cost of the several policies to cover tools & equipment then the car transporter trailer then the vehicles outweighed the cost of a traders policy that covered everything - I have continued to retain a traders policy since but then I established the business 4 years ago - maybe you would get cover for the tools equipment rolled / included into a buildings & public liability only policy - I think that the main problem that you have is that you own an industrial building and therefore every insurer will treat you has a business - my insurers are good at what they do and do issue separate policies - PM me if want their contact details
