Great video! It seems there was a lot more options available for the proper Mk2 (ie your) cube, Compared to the Mk3 like mine. Personally I think they look better in white, ive seen a black Mk3 locally and imo it just doesn't look as good. Thank mate! I've really enjoyed digging into the history of these things and tried to find every piece of original literature that was available when these first came out. Going through the sales brochures and stuff like the Impul and Autech catalogs has given me some new, naughty ideas. Currently on the hunt for an original Impul supercharger for my 1.5L. It's not for the power, but just for the wtf factor Just last weekend went for a drive and to my surprise I first spotted another white Z11 with a full Rider kit on it and just 5 minutes later came across a white and very LOW Z12! That Z12 looked really tempting with that stance! That reminds me, theres a grey Z11 around the corner from me that I need to get a pic of. Its got plastic arches on it that really look the part, but ive never even seen a pic of one like it. Ive also seen another Z12 in white, slammed on huge red wheels, but the front end was nothing like mine. I can imagine theres LOADS of literature to find, the Z11 had/has quite a cult following and almost every modded one Ive seen has got something different done to it.

I don't know if its the slam, or the front end, or the style of wheels, but somehow its looks like a proper slab of metal. I wouldnt mind a pair of those sideskirts, or that stance, but big minilights instead.

Doesn't need anything, looks really good in cream, gives it plenty of retro. Following from Hotwires post about the Ridler Awards, a couple of the cars got me inspired to do something to my Cube. One of them being Jerry Penningtons 'Scorpion' It was something id planned to do with my Micra, so I bought what I needed and changed my mind because I had odd tyres and it would have looked gack. So I got the pen out yesterday and slightly retrofied my Cube with a tyre pen. I thought I was going to regret starting it because the letters are sunken into the rubber rather than being raised, took a while to get a decent result but I'm happy with it.

Here's my one, bought from Ratdat of this manor as it is basically but I love how it sits at the minute. Couple of subtle changes planned for when the apocalypse passes but nothing major. Just nice, I sometimes regret taking mine too far.

Very nice! That was my first choice of color, but ended up with pearl white instead. Here's my one, bought from Ratdat of this manor as it is basically but I love how it sits at the minute. Couple of subtle changes planned for when the apocalypse passes but nothing major.

Cheers lads. Yeah, the bits and pieces I want to do to it are literally just little bits of of tidying up and detailing. I've liked them ever since I saw the first ones that were imported however many years ago that was, so I'm happy sticking with how it is really. I might be biased, but I think it's just about the best colour for them as well, especially with the brown interior that it has too. Very happy with it.

Just get the grey plastics flocked brown and it’s finished.

Got some simple retrofying done this weekend. A while ago I put some go-slower stripes on it, but decided they were too narrow, so I ordered some thicker ones, but when they arrived I thought they were too thick. Now that they are on the car I'm really happy with them. The other job was black door mirrors. There was nothing wrong with the paint on them, so I thought id give vinyl wrapping a go. Twice. Failed. So instead I got a tin of rustoleum matt black peelable paint. Only time will tell how long it stays on there for, but the finnish its given is spot on, it just looks like plastic. The Advan 3 spoke I was looking at are off the menu, but the next thing I was looking at were the wing indicators. If they were orange, id probably be looking at getting clear ones, but being clear they are almost invisible, I think making them visible will help with the look, but the question is, smoked or orange?

Not exactly retro, but ive just found these wheels for the new e-MINI. I cant hhonestly say I like them, not on the mini anyway, but assuming they are 4x100 they might just fit on a mk2 Cube. And I think they would look like they were made for it.

I thought the same when I saw them. I'm guessing they will be 4x100 the same as the earlier new minis, the centre bore would just need to be drilled out a little to fit the z11 cube, that was the requirement for the cooper wheels any way. The guy that used to run the cube club in it's early days owned this at the time...

I just found this vid on youtube. The standout for me is the Cube with the conventional rear window. Great choice of mods and a nice colour too.

One detail I wanted to do on my Cube was the wing indicators. They are clear. For years ive swapped orange lenses for clear ones, but this time, just because this is the first car ive had that came with clear ones as standard, I wanted orange ones. Nothing wrong with clear ones, but they didnt fit with my intention of making it look aged slightly. After searching it seems that these units weren't available in orange, so I bought some lens paint. Better. But not quite there, it needed some chrome. Whilst trying to avoid the 'stick-on-chrome-tat' look, I went in search of some stick on chrome tat. 1) Nope. Listed for a Juke that has the same units, just no. I found 3 types that looked like a possibility, bought 2 that I wasnt quite happy with, so bought the 3rd also, taking a chance that they fitted as they were listed for every other Nissan, but not the Cube. 2) Very thin, almost pointless as you cant really notice it. 3) Totally flat, and just a naff shape 4) Bigger than it looked in the listing, wasnt sure about the shape but it goes well with the chrome door handles, and looks slightly like a Figaro item, looks rubbish in the photo though. Overall, not totally happy with any of them. Should I give up because its a stupid idea and basicly stick-on-chrome-tat, or stick one of them on because it better than it sitting in the box? And I almost forgot 5) Er...... no.
