My advice would be to watch 90s Anime like AKIRA or Ghost in the Shell and get ideas from the traffic in NeoTokyo / Future Japan Shame we can't get funky tyres in colours other than black, 'cos if you could I'd totally rock one a Mk2 Cube in Fiat 500 green with orange tyres, like Tetsuo's bike. Also - the front of the MK2 (the mk1 is more carlike) always put me in mind of the Bedford CF so maybe there's some 70s / Early 80s Vannin' type styling to be tried? (FYI:) MK1: "Car-erer' MK2: 'Square-erer' MK3: 'Rounder-er

I never knew about that 1st gen Cube until now. To me the 2nd gen has the proper shape for a Cube.

Like this? Yes! Or anything with cool colours or graphics. Do it like a Sushi Van, or a small Japanese Taxi, or Construction Van.

I gave the box a quick wash and it got to meet some of it’s new stablemates. coil overs and wheels ordered, won’t install them until (lowering)spring time. I’ve been looking into hydro dipping some of the interior plastics...

As if a Cube doesn't get you looked at enough, that Cube Cube is about as subtle stone in your shoe. When I bought my Cube I also knew nothing about the MK1, I thought that the MK2 was the original Cube. The Mk1 is such a normal looking Car, I wonder what made them make the huge design change, or why they didn't 'Cube' the Mk1, its not a very cube Cube really. For retrofying they don't really need much, they are a retroish shape to start with being quite square. Mine had a black bonnet when I got it, which I think helps a lot making it look a little less in-your-face. Mine has also got chrome door handles, simply because it helps to break up the mass of white, and chrome door handles are well retro. As for wheels Id love to fit a set of black 16in deep-dish minilights to mine, but budget wont allow at the moment.

Not too sure about the whole racing theme any more... Have come up with many Cube's in various racing liveries already.

I'm also wanting to do some hydro dipping to spruce up the interior a bit. Nothing this wild, but use the same technique to get the look I'm after.

Installed winter tires on a set of original alloys for the next few months. BC Racing coil overs installed. Set them only about an inch lower than stock. Will slam the box once the summer arrives and I get to install the new wheels.

A quick satin black spray of the area between front and rear side windows would look good I think. I like the hydro dipping / graphics idea on the inside!
