Always liked these, and to see one being well taken care of is a rarity! Nice work so far, got any particular plans for it or is it just one to maintain and enjoy wafting around in? No big plans. I'm using it, and will continue to use it, as my daily workhorse for the coffee shop. Plans are just to fix what I think is a blocked drain hole (hence damp carpets), and get it looking as good as possible. It's pretty much nailed on to be on a stand at the Restoration Show at the NEC in March, which I'm looking forward to. Damp carpets usually mean a leaking heater matrix which they are known for, dash out job to replace, does it use any water?

Replaced the rear discs and pads today. Rear nearside sliders were also seized and rubbers split, so stopping prowess back as it needs to be for a big brick.
I've noticed that the seals around what looks to be a replacement front screen aren't flush in places, so I'm thinking that could be a starting point to check out ref the dampish mats.

That will be a bonded front windscreen that is also laminated - tread carefully when you start poking around with the screen seals has it will be quite easy to break the screen - of course the easier route if it is the screen that's leaking is to check that you hold windscreen cover on your insurance policy - if the screen was accidently broken you could have it replaced - it should not effect your no claims bonus but it will have some type of excess to pay - this is normally sub £100 against the cost of a new screen which fitted will be several hundred ££

There are a few sources of water which can occur in a 940/960. Through the scuttle and down into the heater blower motor when seal breaks up Sunroof leaking - not the drains but the seal between the glass and the metal. You can resell it by taking out the glass, not hard. Door seal
Heater matrix’s are quite reliable.
Mine I found was leaking through the sunroof seal - typically was the last place I checked!!

Well, as much as I love this one, and I do love it, it's a superb car, it's just not the ideal car for my 'round the doors' daily.
It'll be up for sale soon sadly.
