Picked up this old car the other day for my new daily. Getting in is like getting into a time machine (cliché I know) but she is cherry Genuine 67k with long service history No rust. None on the sills, None on the arches. None at all. Interior is showroom fresh, no rips/tears or even wear marks from normal use. This is one of those hidden gem cars you really on hear about but never see. I had decided I was buying her purely from the ad and description. I had bought insurance and booked a one way train ticket within minutes of seeing the ad (if it wasnt as described I was screwed on getting home)
Now I have the car I'm unsure how to proceed. Part of me want to drop a turbo in her but that means different engine, which would be a shame as it's a legit surviver car
Other parts of me want to leave it as is and just keep maintain her with no further mods (it still has the original stereo with booklet)
Any how, here's the car

Really nice cars these, like any Honda I guess, but this has added cool. I like the wheels, they remind me of a Honda wheel I think.

That does look neat, & I always though this series rather bland after the pop-up lights of its predecessor, but from some angles it still has the classy smugness of the Legend coupe. Rare find! I think these might be the newer, but similarly styled factory wheels some were thinking of but are 16" 5-stud... where these were the equivalent 15" 4-stud

Yeah I no what you mean. I bought a MK3 prelude purely for the pop up head light's. This accord is basically just a bigger variant. I think this works because the head lights aren't overtly big. They aren't hidden but they work well with the lines of the car Unlike the Mk5 Prelude lights which look disproportionate to the rest of the front

One of the few niggles on my car is that it scrapes on speed bumps etc and there at alot of them in my area. My first thought to fix is was some bigger wheels. As they'll fill the arch gap better as well as some more ground clearance but I couldn't really find any I liked. I could raise the car as it is on coil overs (hahaha like some one would purposefully raise car) Whilst left me with two options. Deal with it as it is. Or fit air ride.
I went with the latter. ordered a completete kit from that requires very little Body fab work. Which would of been a deal breaker for me as the body is so clean. Only catch is the shocks won't be available for next 30/40 days. But they have sent me the management kit so I can set about installing that.
It's going to look epic and be a ton of fun. I've always want to build an airride car

Should be an interesting experience.. Can understand the need looking at the rear wheel/tyre/arch clearance in the earlier pictures!

update time. Progress is going to slow on this for two reasons. One being everything is getting checked and triple checked before any thing gets cut and two, I've got a broken wrist (big thanks to the guy who decided to stop my car with his) Thanks to said broken wrist I've been bored at home unable to spin a spanner/ do anything to involved. I've been drawing layouts and building the system in my head for ages now. So I thought id do some cad stuff for my gauge's and switches positions. My plan was to use the nice shelf area just below the radio. It actually unscrews from the centre console much to my surprise. But you do have to remove that first. However that's only screwed into place. With it removed I made a cardboard duplicate which I could cut up to my heart's content and no worry about. I also relearned why hot glue guns are called what they are the hard way. And that it takes longer than I thought for the glue to go hard I was actually quite pleased with my self about how this came out. Forgot how fun cad was. It was pretty much to scale and whilst admiring it in my living room, I thought I nailed the design on my first attempt. (I will be ordering metal gauge holders) And then I tried fitting it. It a fitted rather well except for one critical thing. The switches and gear cables were trying to occupy the same space. Damn. I never thought about that. The gauges however fit nicely and are very easy to read from the drivers seat (Shelf bit that I removed and copied) The gauges are ace but the switches will have to be fitted somewhere else as the can't go here Plenty of room for piping and wiring at least So my new plan is to relocate the headlight washer switch as it still works and fit all four switches where the blanks are. It gets a +1 for the fact I don't have to hack up more trim pieces but a -1 due to it not being anywhere near as ergonomical as my original design

Its good to see you are making good progress despite your wrist problems.
It's going to look good and perform well using a proper kit it should straight forward and reliable for you.
Nice.
