I've got this 1996 P reg XUD7 driven 205 for sale, it's in various shades of silver with body coloured under bumpers with snazzy yellow inserts in the bumpers. To say this car has had a bit of a hard life is putting it lightly, I bought it up the line in Devon where it had been used as a throwaway hack, before this some older woman was running it about in Tavistock I think. It was probably destined for scrap had I not saved it, it was really quite rough body-wise, worse than it is today if you'd believe that! But i've repaired or replaced as much as I had in stock to get it looking okay from a distance now, it needed welding for the MOT which wasn't in the usual 205 places for once, these areas are actually pretty good, the boot floor is decent (a result of undersealed the underside of the car once upon a time I think) the inner wings aren't shot either and the suspension turrets haven't perished either, the outer body isn't rotten either, there's a little surface rust above the windscreen seal and a few dings here and there but otherwise it's still 205 shaped.
All the electrics work, the heater is fine (a common one to go) the radio is picking up static so assume it can be tuned it, if not, cassettes it is. The lights all function, the rear heated screen works I think, wipers, wiper jets etc etc, it's very basic so manual winders for windows and no central locking is the order of the day here - less to go wrong some would say. The car starts and runs fine, gearbox engages nicely and drives as you'd expect these to. I keep moving it about every couple of weeks to make sure everything stays in drivable order, although the MOT is running until July 2020, I haven't done any actual road mileage aside taking it to the test centre and up and down the road every now and again so it's had no wear and tear since being last tested - you can check the list of things I had done at the last MOT online.
It's really quite a sweet little 205 let down by how scruffy it is, I added the stickers to the sides as the car was ratty looking to begin with so at least it looks more 'scene' now ....
The seats are Malibu blue cloth which aren't bad, the rears are in good nick, the carpet could do with a decent wash as it's still a bit dusty and dirty. I think the car would suit someone wanting a rough retro daily rather than someone looking for a prime example 205, sure you could spend money and have the paint sorted and suchlike but I don't think these are at that point of being worth doing so yet, hence why I haven't. What you do have is a reliable diesel workhorse that'l return 50mpg without thinking about it with power steering for ease of use and a decent spritely engine that with a cambelt change, would easily see over double what the mileage is currently (101,000)
Looking for £700 for it
