This is an interesting development. Interested to know what you have planned (I know what I'd do, I'd be looking for a locust 7 chassis lol) INSOMNIA SUCKS. Woke at 3.00 am now waiting for 06.00 to get going to Bootfair. Morning Joe, Interesting development only in that it’s the first time it has been publicly displayed. Had this spinning around in my head for many years. Just that now seems as good a time as any to try find one to stash away for later use. Let’s hope I find one.

When you buy one of these..... To fix one of these. It is often, because you are skilled enough to produce one of these for your NASCAR truck build, in order to save weight. And change some subtle bits. Even if you kinda fail first time, and start again, it shows what you can and will do. Gel coat mould made Result One small bubble to fix. Looks like Dennis is onto a winner again. He also needs a custom front splitter to aid aerodynamic flow. Anyone doing them for 66 C10’s ? Back home, he and Tally offered it up to the trucks front end. Looks right to me. Next job: Build a glass fibre hood/bonnet to reduce weight. Seems a slippery slope when you have over 800bhp under the hood, to start a weight loss Program Clem at rubatrucks.com in Fayetteville, Arkansas also sent Dennis a steel Quuic Fill filler neck this week for the truck. Bit by bit this crazy build is coming together too. Soon it will be Black Lines all over Missouri.

This thread has been going since October 2010 forum.retro-rides.org/thread/89875/tip-treasures-updated-23-2020And I certainly have collected, and shared out some free stuff. Perfectly timed by mate Scott jabbo was an offer of a used (not a SnapOn) wheeled toolbox for my garage. I have a SnapOn item that came here for £75.00 a year or two ago from a mate. But this will be great for the extra stuff laying about, especially with the current carport build. Including 30 mile delivery, it has the feel of a bargain. Life continues to be good.

Bit by bit this crazy build is coming together too. Soon it will be Black Lines all over Missouri. Black Lines Matter #BLM Being up at stupid-0-clock, meant I got to talk to Dennis on Messenger video for about 45 minutes from 5.15 as he had got home late, and saw me online. He was saying there is a lot of work left, getting doors, fenders etc all lined up before final paint and then final assembly. He is impatient too. Two weeks of spending less than £5.00 equates to not a good Bootfair. Home by 8.00am One for Craig, likes his VW stuff. And for the new carport and compressor room, a double plug for £1.00 And a book for the toilet, 50p Mostly pink stuff and rusted tools and dirty kitchenware. But we keep hoping.

I mentioned previously that my karma bucket was overflowing. Where Sally lives, a bunch of paving guys with a Transit pickup and some vans have been doing a load of paving for older residents. Her neighbour two houses down asked if she wanted to buy a mower (petrol, she likes electric) so she declined. But asked me when I popped around. I went to look, and it came home with me, along with two tools, a Jerry can and some fuel, all for £100.00 Happy with that as I have been looking for some time but prices put me off. Tried it out yesterday. After that, I went to the shop and cleaned, primed and painted the cab roller frame for the C10 Just need to fit some wheels to it today, then we have a complete tool. I also need to work on the cab lifter tool, as it has rotten out around the mounting screws at the ends from living outdoors for years. Coming together now.

That’s a decent result on the garden tools. Looks like a big leaf vacuum? Always fancied one of those. Oh, and the house painting is coming along; that’s got to be painful, painting that much rough rendering. Mine’s smooth and there’s not much of it, but I still don’t like it.

Those mountfield mowers are ok. I’ve been running one for a couple of decades by occasionally picking up a broken one for pocket money and robbing it for spares.

Both the green tools are headed onto FB marketplace. I actually lost my painting mojo during the very high, temperature days, and need to get back onto it. And yes, it’s a killer, painting that.

I’ll have it. Away this week, but I’ll be in touch once I’m home. 👍 Cool, thanks. Micky dropped it here a few months ago under the big tree as he knew I like these. I cannot remember if it has a proprietary motor, Honda or whatever. I was going to have it serviced and reinstated. When my current one finally expired, mine is a B&S and the wheels have fallen off etc but having bought this like new mower, I am going to let it move on. You are welcome to visit, or just collect it from the garden, in front of the small shed, if I was not in.

Could be used as part of your car. OR Use it as the drop down door for your booze cabinet next to your outdoor BBQ area. Collection only please. PM gives you first dibs. After the “ failed “ Bootfair, Sally and I climbed into the garden and cleared beds, moved my Ogre to a new open space as he had disappeared into the growth over time. I carried him to the 4 foot wall, Sally and I tried to get him on the plinth, but she is a girl, so I called my favourite 76 year old neighbour over to just help me safely get it up. Easy. Had him about 15 years. Loads of other jobs, including pruning, clearing and also doing a final number on the subterranean part of the wasp nest, finally covering it with soil. Seems I now own a shed again. And glenanderson has a spares mower. Galaxy was roped into action as well. VIDEO LINK. Not the first time. As was Prozac before. NOW TIME FOR A BEER AND SOME LUNCH METHINKS. Been a nice weekend.

Well at lest it didn't fly up and smash the rear screen. Only on FB if you are really stupid mate. Small tree, long strap, gentle pulling. It did bring more of the garden along than expected though 😁

Am I the on;y one who has three or four future cars/projects spinning around in my head, while having one to still complete? Question posed elsewhere, but some do not go into the question section at all. georgeb and joem83 Paul Y there you go. Part of my future planning or dreaming is something like these Owner type, or Tamiya style cars mostly seen in the Philippines. One reply below, quoted from another forum regarding the Suzuki’s. I am just wondering, thinking if it is all do-able. RWD only needed, so front end may need to be addressed too, you guys tell me. Thanks guys. And NeverRodeBefore, thats a great reply. Hopefully you can do more input and a bit more on chassis rot or not. I am thinking (part of future planning) of rebodying a Vitara or something with a chassis. Rather than use an old home built kit car frame, use something that has most of the bits in the right place. Never done it before but think it is within my abilities. AND I WANT TO LOWER IT QUITE A BIT This is the idea. VIDEO: I think a rebody will be doable in the current IVA and various test criteria. Of course, all of this could just be a dream and foolish, hopefully those who really know their stuff will input with encouragement or warnings. Thanks.

Another option would be to start off with something like Dutton and re-body it, as they are generally already low enough have simple ladder chassis and RWD you could probably keep the chassis / mechanicals pretty much as they come (perhaps with a modern engine) and do it without the need for an IVA.

Absolutely, and thanks for the suggestion. This is why one finds so many answers and advice on here. I know too little to build something like that from the whole engineering side. But reckon a rebody is worth considering. Paul Y suggested this too, same idea. Dumped (parked up 20 plus years) www.gumtree.com/p/other-vehicles/merlin-kit-car-/1382564382Of course you are often reliant on other people’s engineering prowess or lack thereof.
