Enjoyed reading this thread, I remember when it was started. I’m a long time lurker and now the proud owner of Lenny, a phase 1 Laguna. Have you tried CBD oil for your back pains? I used to get constant migraines everyday until I took CBD now I don’t get headaches at all. I don’t get high off it or anything so perfectly safe to drive.

I like the original Laguna too. Had a phase 1 Megane sedan when they returned to South Africa years ago. Not tried CBD, kinda cautious of a lot of stuff. I believe my back is mechanical and partly wear and partly old injuries. Once this COVID plums settles I will be referred for an MRI to see what is going on inside my back. I got to scrub the tiles with a wire brush on Sunday, and they came up good. Job done now, other than wanting to replace the large wooden lintel at some point.

Have you tried a T.E.N.S machine? When pills don't cut the mustard i really get benefit from mine.

Once you have had the scan they may refer you too a physio, I was pulled around by him then given a number of exercises to stretch parts of the spine etc which really helped (and told to loose weight which could well have also helped had I done it!).
Latest problem is a shoulder so when this is all over I'll be off to see them again.
All said it's part of getting older and infinitely preferable to the alternative.

Have you tried a T.E.N.S machine? When pills don't cut the mustard i really get benefit from mine. I have one, was a Christmas gift a few years ago. It certainly helps With muscular aches and such, but will not remedy mechanical wear and tear, or pinched nerves. I think I need to pull it back into service again, forces me to sit still for a bit too.

I wear mine on the go... agreed , if bits are worn out they are worn out but when the muscles protest at holding the old corpse together i do find it helps.

I have walked about in the house with mine. Best part of it is when the pulses change. Always makes me squeak a bit.

My spare one isn't as big as that by a long way. £55 is cheap.

My worst worry about dying is my wife selling my stuff for what I told her it cost...

My spare one isn't as big as that by a long way. £55 is cheap. Mickey next door offered me one too, from his old Rover 25 as he had replaced the battery weeks before the head went. I had to think it all through and decided £55.00 for a 4 year warranty was not too bad. £13.00 per yer. Thank you , regardless for the offer, I am sure it will come in handy somewhere.

Amazing, how time flies. Especially when you are busy doing stuff. A lot of what I am doing in preparation for building this 6m Meter by 6 meter carport in front of the garage is appearing from the left field. Stuff like having to cut back my shared hedge with Mickey some more. Moving my steel cabinet of garden tools away, clearing the proposed wall to be demolished. The woodwork shed is getting new roofing felt later as storm Dennis tore the top sheet off earlier this year. Also painting it and of course clearing growth from around it. Tight fit Discovering an old nesting box that was habituated last year and having to repair it for reinstallation. New position. Painting the shed at Mickey side which is 2 foot below my ground level was interesting. Front and left side Done. More dismantling next and clearing the secret garden somI can get in there to paint and do the refelting of the roof.

Quick photo dump today. Dennis in St Louis has been getting on with his 1966 C10 on a 2015 NASCAR chassis, motor and transmission build. They have seen unprecedented rain and bad weather this year, so shoptime becomes a natural option. The dogs are always in the shop with him, and Son Adam’s dog Cinch hates thunder and lightening. Loads of panels made, shaped and welded to bring the C10 and Race truck bodies together. Rear end. More parts, panels made nd fitted as nothing is off the shelf here. C10 dash meet race truck body During one of the few rain free days, the GMC Cabalero (which I believe is for sale) did some garden work. Getting here..... Little criminal...... Getting on with it. Steering and pedal placement. Note the custom made gas pedal from Andy Martin in Tulsa Oklahoma Bedsides in for paint at last. Note the wheel arches needed to be moved forward to suit the race truck wheel placement. Visitor at the shop. Chevy, going on Ebay over the weekend. What $18k buys you in axle hardware. Inside and outside painted. Back home two days ago. Fitted...... Note NASCAR exhaust poking out in front of rear tyres. Hope to see more soon.

Changed the battery this morning. I really should have done it a long time ago. Amazing difference it makes to cranking and instant firing up.

Galaxy to the rescue, again. Had it been the Focus, not so easy. Went looking for some decent 100-150mm castor wheels at scrapyard to build a cab trolley for the C10 cab. Failed. But scored a free galvanised home gardening wheelbarrow for Sam the neighbour who usually borrows mine. Paying for itself every day.

No rain in St Louis today. Dennis’s son Adam brought a new tailgate back yesterday from Kansas. Patina build sleeper NASCAR truck getting prettier every day now. Exhaust brackets today.

So carrying on with dismantling the area outside the garage, I was amazed at just how well I had built it all. Smashed Looking down More of the wall that needs to come down. During the week I went to get some food and found these guys resting in the car park. Also stopped at Supa Glazing to pick up some used double glazed windows that would be built into the top of the new wall, to let more light into the carport. Embarrassing myself, I managed to collapse in the car park in front of the guy helping me with the glass when my back gave in and just dropped me like a sack of poo. Back home, neighbour Sam brought me some threaded bar or stud to use in the foundation work. In the mean time, I helped Mickey get his new rose arch up. Yes, it is large. Almost done, just the rest of the trellis to add and paint.

perusing your selection of garden instruments , it struck me that a gentleman with a "delicate" back is missing a vital piece of equipment...... .......a cornish shovel. work smart , work easy , no more bending with one of those silly spades! (the ones the local council use come with a special pad on top so they don't chafe their arms , the amount of time they spend leaning on them chatting!!)

Cornish shovels always look so useless with no cross bar handle for control. My dad made me a garden spade and fork 20 or so years ago. Much better leverage. Note my spade vs a regular sized one, circled in red

you have plenty of plenty of control. i have 2 , one that still has a point and one that has the front 5" or so worn away flat from use. i did buy a spade once , don't think i've ever really used it in anger. certainly wouldn't want to move 8 ton + in a day with a spade like i have with my trusty shovel.

Really interesting. I also moved 8 ton in a day once, but I was young and dumb and strong. Used a shovel that time, not a spade though. Right tools do help a lot.
