Sorry grizz but essential journeys and social distancing ? After spending the last 2 weeks working down South I can tell you those rules don't apply Second attempt at a reply after deleting a long essay about staying home and only going out to Morrison’s once a week while Sally works 10 plus hours a day, clocking in 05.45 daily. I work from home now, online, and we try see each other when we can. No kisses, no cuddles, no sex, no touching for four weeks At this point, not beating the living carp out of any random person is part of my daily mantra. Driving 2 miles up the road alone, while she is at work, to pressure clean her paving, is essential for my mental health. Simple really for me. This is not a debate.
No matter what answer I give, we all have different opinions and will judge each other daily.
Watching the brain surgeons in the line at Morrison’s remove gloves to play with their phone, or rubbing their eyes after getting their shopping trolley.......
It’s all relative. All about risk minimisation.
Mask and gloves while driving your car solo?
Government and scientists who cannot give a coherent, honest opinion and advice?
This is never going to be resolved.Grizz, in all fairness I don’t think anybody is going to take you to task over going up there to pressure wash her patio whilst she is at work. That is essential for your mental heath, because doing things for others is how you roll 👍🏻😊 However, posting photos and openly admitting to visiting and partaking in adult beverages isn’t the brightest idea during a time when we should be self isolating. You,of all people, being in the Medical industry should know better ...😷

When’s the first fright flight of Dennis,s truck due? That’s such an awesome build 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 No idea, as he tends to do stuff at his own pace. Inbetween living and making a living. Is that orange truck in for repairs with Dennis? It looks a bit kinky in the back 🤣🤣 That truck, like so many of the 13 trucks on the team ends up getting minimal or catastrophic damage during races. They often put guest drivers in them too, which could result in similar outcomes. Japanese driver Ogata contracted and remodelled this one, yes. Sometimes it’s an easy fix, all steel. Engine room. Time for a little sex wee. Just incredible.

That’s cool. 👍🏻 I don’t know how much Dennis is or isn’t allowed to show, but I would like to see more. Not bothered with the engine, they are always in photos. I would like to see the underneath. Are the chassis’s skinned for want of a better word? What rear suspension do they run? Live axle? Would also like to see the roll cage and in the cab ,view from the office kind of stuff, gear change, pedals etc. Basically all the bits you would only get to see if you were there. I can understand if he isn’t allowed to take photos of certain components. How much of the body is metal, and how much plastic/ fibreglass or carbon fibre?I have always felt there is more engineering in them that people can relate to, as opposed to something like F1 where it’s all fancy composites and electronics. Pretty please?🤣

Pretty please?🤣 Sadly, Mike Mittler the owner of the team died after an extended fight with cancer last year, ending a very long friendship and partnership. The team has been disbanded and all assets sold off at stupid money, as is often the case. That’s how Dennis has ended up with three Hendriks race motors, gearboxes and loads of parts, machines etc (Cash is King) Not sure if he has pics of undersides, but I suspect Google will have some info as these cars are built using parameters and templates to keep it fairly even between teams. Note the profile above the previous rebuild trucks pic, standard profile for all trucks, irrespective of brand. The nose cone profile draped over some spare motors. It is all very snug. But Dennis has rebuilt the interior for the 66 C10 in order to get more regular seats fitted and allow more normal driving.

Sad to hear about him losing his fight with cancer🙁. Is the other Brother of Mittler Bros still alive? Does that company continue?

...allow more normal driving. I assume that's a relative term? Certainly is. You know Dennis is known to have challenged State troopers to seeing whose car was quickest after getting pulled for speeding. He does like horsepower and horseplay

Sad to hear about him losing his fight with cancer🙁. Is the other Brother of Mittler Bros still alive? Does that company continue? Yes, the company will continue, its well respected, high end and in good health. The NASCAR team was all Mikes baby, his brother had no interest at all. They started their company after being made redundant years ago. Hard work And innovation drove their success.

PS @johnnybravo I spoke to Dennis earlier on.
The floor pms in those trucks are complete Ford factory items, with transmission hump cut and made taller.
Hope that answers one of your questions.

Have one of the other NASCAR teams snapped Dennis up? 😊 Not sure how to reply. However, he has his own body shop, a good, but hard work life and results that satisfies his and his families needs. Body men are a dime a dozen, so for him, keeping it at professional quality and delivery on a hobby that happens to have generated some income and a lot of goodwill and friendships, works for him. I suspect he would have declined a job offer anyway. "No kisses, no cuddles, no sex, no touching for four weeks" Blimey Grizz it almost sounds like you're married. Not going into it oo deeply (excuse the pun) it certainly feels it, though it is not. A new line has been added the the "wifes book of excuses"....social distancing!!! For some of you sad guys possibly. I would just hit the refresh button if that came up. Simples.

A few more random than usual pics. My brother lives in South Africa and since lockdown they have not been able to buy alcohol or tobacco. Cue his son who lives with him, and used to be a chef and barman plus social club manager years ago.... Yeast, oranges and some sugar for good measure. Spare bathroom used for Washing machine and tumble drier only (excuse colour choices, not his) pulled into service. More large on trainers also quietly brewing away. “Kicks like a mule” I went food shopping on Sunday, 9 days after previous Friday and saw this beauty. On the way back, this was the road works sign, covered in the rainbow and Support the National Health Service. Nice sentiment, and one I always include all and any front line workers who continue to work. In order for the rest of us to be able to carry on away from normal routines. It has been interesting watching Mickey next door and Sam, two hoses to the other side, get on with jobs on both properties and helping each other, we all look out for each other, and Mickey at 75 post bowel cancer less than six months ago all keeping their distance. Break in proceedings. More later. Online meeting now.

Ongoing saga of cleaning my massive expanse of paving was drawing to a close. But loads of obstructions in front of the garage to move. Before starting that job, hedges.... spring comes and you can hear them grow. Clean up hedge cuttings etc. Got started in the back corner. Caravan shed was clean when parked there. Stopped at that point, late Friday afternoon. Saturday morning was chilly and I was so desperate to just walk away..... Add in the spray and a gentle air movement with minimal movement myself, and it gets chilly. Sally stopped by on her way to shops and made me a welcome coffee, then scooted off again. Amazing how mossy and grubby the paving gets in a year. And keep in mind, you need to clean the stones on all aspects of the bevelling in order to get a decent finish. Plus clear the debris every 600mm or 24inches. End in sight. .

And pressure cleaning job done. Knackered. Next job here would be brushing kiln dried sand into all the grooves and joins opened by the pressure cleaning. But before that....... Lifting, repairing, relaying and grouting over at Sally’s place. I got to realise how knackered my hips, back nd various other joints are. So much damage. Also put up a few items I made for her in the garden. And cross cast at Andy Martins place in Oklahoma last year. Then back to my place late afternoon to start the sanding of the paving, before it turns and rains as it needs to be very dry. Handy assistant, many hands make light work. Lawn needs a cut, desperately. .

It’s a shame you can’t come up to Leicestershire and clean my patio as you’ve done such a good job of yours. 😂
I was going to cut my grass yesterday but the daisies looked so pretty I didn’t have the heart to chop there heads off.
