Lodger continues to be a real problem. Scruffy, dirty, disorganised, drunk, and this morning overslept by 2 hrs, then called in sick. I see tears, and they will not be mine. I will be brutal. Time to get rid, methinks?

Keep posting Grizz! Its motivational thanks! Thank you. It is a good thing for me, both the sharing and the ton of input and learning from all of you guys inputting on here. To me, FORUMS ARE WHERE MY COMFORT AND APPLIED FUNCTIONALITY LIES. 'Scruffy, dirty, disorganised, drunk, and this morning overslept by 2 hrs, then called in sick.' Just for a moment there I thought I was your lodger.....but then I realised, it couldn't be me as I didn't call in sick! 😁 Calling in sick because you are Sh!t just does not sit well with me. He is just not much of a powerhouse of planning, activity or dynamism. I made him call the boss a bit later to offer to come in for 6-8 hrs, as he “felt better” and the supervisor told him they were coping fine. If I were the manager, you would not get a minute of overtime out of me. His cr4p attitude to a job he has been in 2 weeks........ and that is 8 days of 12 hr shifts in work, in which he has overslept 3, yes THREE times..... just amazes me. Then he sits here telling me of wanting to be self employed with a specialist paint shop and working in aerospace........ seriously? He will be out soon, and trust me, I am very tolerant, but I will boot his assss right out. I hate dirty, scruffy lazy type of people. Just not my style.

Lodger continues to be a real problem. Scruffy, dirty, disorganised, drunk, and this morning overslept by 2 hrs, then called in sick. I see tears, and they will not be mine. I will be brutal. Time to get rid, methinks? Very soon I suspect he will self destruct and play out his own hand. I do not care what he does to himself. However, when you leave taps running, all the lights on, leave doors unlocked when you go out to smoke, don’t clean your used crockery etc...... your assss in getting booted. On Tuesday I gave him a ride to town (7 miles there) and back to ostensibly buy food and toiletries. He is extremely hygiene shy , first lodger ever to be just dirty. So he bought cookies, crisps, sausage rolls, and two packs of sausages. Ohhhh and a bottle of Kooparberg cherry rum, and a bottle of lime Gin that he mentioned he owed someone. Later the evening this was how I found him....... lights all on, movie on his PC, back door open as he had gone out to smoke during the evening. He had ordered Chinese take away (I hate food going to the bedroom, and may have to address it) there is a table and chairs in the kitchen. The plate and knife and fork took till yesterday to come down after I had asked him 3 times in the previous days to bring stuff down. So this was what I found. Seen from the door. Then the night before last, I offered him dinner as I had cooked enough, he had dinner, sat down here talking a load of sh!t about festivals, and his achievements of getting drunk, memory loss and ending up in medical tents etc.... clearly a kid parents are proud of. Yes, I judge them. He then proceeded to head upstairs intermittently and outside to to smoke. Hell.... he stinks. By 9.00pm he had fallen asleep on the couch, a deep sleep, I told him repeatedly to go up to bed, and he kept saying no. When he did het up, it took three attempts, he could hardly stand and I was waiting for him to fall over on his face. When I went upstairs an hour later, again, this was what I found...... Speaking to him yesterday, he claims not to recall anything after dinner...... I see tears ....... Not mine.

Yeah, absolutely with you on that one. I will help anyone that's truly down on their luck and needs a little help/push in the right direction. From my experience, those people are few and far between. There was a chap that I use to work with that tried to take me for an idiot. I would sit there and listen to his troubles as well as his Hope's and dreams.....you know the sort thing....he's better than everyone else at everything.....but has never had the opportunity because life has been so cruel. At first I felt sorry for him and did what I could to help out. But to cut a very long story short, he was another one of those that couldn't be bothered to help himself, couldn't be bothered to work ( if he bothered to turn up ) and basically saw all of his problems as someone else's fault. He took everything I could offer him and gave nothing back apart from hassle. So inevitably, I told him to politely f##k off. Which then meant that all of his problems from then on were my fault!!! I changed jobs shortly after, which was nothing to do with him....although it was nice put it all behind me. Lesson learned......never again!

And little things like waking at 2.00am and not being able to get to sleep, then stealing my spare 2 liter Pepsi Max as the neat rum was not so nice then..... not acceptable. He then has the cheek to replace it with Coke. Told him I do not drink Coke. Should have told him, if he steals from me again, his Sh!t is on the sidewalk. I am generous, to a fault..... but do not steal from me. I am unfortunately also Eagle eyed.

I think in your situation you have more patience than I'd have. To treat someone else's home and hospitality like he's treating yours just isn't on.
Buy the way.....totally with you on the Pepsi preference over Coke.......Pepsi every time 👍😁

I do not understand why someone would treat someone's house that way. Outrageous behaviour. My sister-in-law once gave a work friend somewhere to live and he stank the place out. So I empathise with you Rian. And I am with you 100% on Pepsi Max over Coke Zero / any other type of Cola. It's on special in Tesco's so I currently have 192 cans in the garage. I don't drink hot drinks (can't stand tea or coffee), I don't smoke, I don't drink alcohol (for now, anyway) so this is my current vice (other than the Midas of course). Love the stuff! Looking forward to seeing the badges

A few minutes later she whispered “He’s having a shower” she misses nothing this girl, I paused the telly and could hear the shower pump running. Maybe the serious bollocking I gave him the day before had some impact, or maybe Saturday is his weekly shower day. He has no strikes left, and interestingly he did comment last night about paying the deposit in two halves this week and next week (my fault for not insisting on it at day 1) but I am not sure if I want to even take it, if he is possibly going to screw up in a week. And Pepsi Max is different , in a good way.

A rare thing happened yesterday. Sally came over by 08.30 for tea and toast and to spend some time, I rarely go to her place, as there are no toys, and she prefers to come here.. So we had brekkie together, the watched some recorded telly, and by 12.00 she went home to see her grandson and son, also to allow me to get outside as by then I was feeling very guilty. I was chuffed though, that I had managed to sit and do nothing for a few hours. She is a sneaky photographer and waited for me to start looking for a hole in the trucks bulkhead. I had two small jobs to do. Replace the switch on the rear fog light with a metal item and ensure it still worked. So out with the very broken old red unit. In with the new. Happy. Next job after finding a small man made hole in the bulkhead was to thread a wire through there. That was a mistake, as I ended up removing it, and enlarging the hole with a step drill, and then running two wires in there, finding them snaking in from under the dash. I also used some flat 3 core household wire to thread through the face of the dash, so that I could connect it to the two wires and then pull them up through the dash. These modern cars are so compactly made, and even the threading of wires are a bit more complex as there is so much under the dash, blocking access. Still, got it through and then got the wires back up out the front. Next job inside was to drill a hole to take the new metal push button for the Klaxon horn. I hate damaging the cars plastics, and mad as it may seem, I will keep an eye out for a replacement piece to stash with all the other unused parts. Mate Kevin who is moving house soon, also popped around for a looksee, couple of mugs of tea and a chat. Once the internal jobs were done, I needed to find a live to draw current from. As earning was easy via the mounting bolt, and the pigs tail out the horn. And once fitted, happy with the tidiness achieved. I forgot to take pics of the completed switches before dark. So good morning. .

What? He owes you money too? Get him gone. My ad on the website states clearly, ID and Deposit one months rent plus rent in advance. I honestly don’t know how he sneaked in under the radar, my bad. But now with his strikes being out, I am not sure how soon he gets the boot. Saying that, last night his shower bought him 24 hours respite back.

Went to get milk and bread in the truck earlier. Stopped and checked in on friend Kevin, who,is building the Deusenberg replica. It is now in paint. Thought a few random pics up at his place were in order. Thames river and Essex, when’re the truck was from in the background. Few more pics. Kevin’s pond. Daffodil, time, with the end of winter approaching. Looking toward the sunset. Pity about the pole, just struggled to compose more 6han that. Looks like the weekend is over. .
