Some might find these skinny (sidewall) tires to uncomfortable. I had 18's on my Merc and did not notice any negative difference comparing to the original 16" wheels. You aren't doing a million miles per year so, I would not worry about that side of things. I am sure that it will look pretty good definitely after you have lowered a little.

Been chatting to the seller of these wheels. Lives 10 minutes from Middlesborough. So logistics of getting the £220.00 wheels down here to Kent comes into play. 3 of the Tyres are almost dead, one is dead. And they are 235 35 19’s Just wonder how they would drive in the real world. I know they will look good. Price up the tyres before you decide ! ...

Those wheel will not be as comfortable as 17’s. If your going to lower it too..... (don’t) you would be in for a hard ride. Just my opinion Mark

I just realised, my Merc had 17’s as well, and overall, after a GTi Golf, I hated the ride overall. Problem is, I think lowering 35-50mm will improve the look hugely. Been digging around on Google.

Still want to find wheels that appeal to me, and are affordable and a comfortable drive. It will happen, I am sure. A few random Google images, some from 2014. Love bits from them all. Lowering and wheels.

seat gets my vote.. oem + a touch. I have a thing for the Seat front end too. Got some plates from a friend in NY this week. Cool addition is the knowledge of where they originate from. I like stories associated with plates. your welcome, buddy! The PPC plate is from a 1992 Mitsubishi Eclipse that we just loved (before kids), the trailer plate is from my dads old utility trailer, the NH plates are from a well used chevy pick up that we used at Camp in NH for many years, and I don't know where teh BW9 plate is from!

The dark blue one has "Rotiform CCV" wheels, and looks amazing! I like the SEAT as well. I think the silver one further above (with the BBS-ish wheels) shows how careful you have to be going up in wheel size without lowering, my brother-in-law did that on his Picasso, IIRC he went from 15s to 17s and it looked like it was on a lift kit!

Colour change on existing wheels worth a shot ? Black wheels can have a big effect ? Cheap and easy to do. James

I like these wheels. they look like vet wheels, I like this pickup to. Wheels are nice, just not on my car. Too complex for cleaning, and I do like them clean. Cut off thing I totally get that it was done and possibly why, but it fails for me. But also happy someone had the balls to do it. It seems the general consensus. Bigger wheels harsher ride. I think there is a balance point though, for all of us. My 2006 C230 on Benz sports suspension with 17’s looked awesome, but after a 2002 GTi 150 diesel, it was a harsh ride. Just buy the wheels..... P. Hmmmmmmmm... 😁 ^^^^^^^ this. if the ride turns to carp , find softer seats! ;-) Ends up big time polishing a turd, and that costs money. ^^^^^^^ this. if the ride turns to carp , find softer seats! ;-) Eat more burgers, create your own luxurious padding! The poor fella is just surviving all sorts of cardiac issues and you want to feed him more burgers.... Aah, apologies! Didn't know that!!! 100% no issue. Colour change on existing wheels worth a shot ? Black wheels can have a big effect ? Cheap and easy to do. James also makes you look like a lazy sod that cant be bothered cleaning them! Yup, and though I like hem clean, I guess I am inherently lazy. Black, or anthracite works on some. This is a big car, will never be cool and murdered out, so black wheels possibly not an aesthetic win. the bigger the wheel the Shiter the ride get a set of 5 spoke AZEVS if you can find them No idea what they look like. I like a lot of wheels, but don’t always know what they are called in the trade.

Colour change on existing wheels worth a shot ? Black wheels can have a big effect ? Cheap and easy to do. James Certainly on the books. Weirdly, some other 6/7 spoke wheels look a lot more “modern” than the ones fitted. So if I see something I like, it may happen too..... With 16’s you keep the ride comfort but may be able to change the look. I think 17’s with a decent sidewall would work too.

The ride comfort difference on my golf with 205/55/16 vs 225/40/18's was negligible
