Earlier this year i managed to tick the big one off my bucket list and drive route 66, If your thinking of doing this love driving you wont regret it.
If you need any tips don't be afraid to ask, Theres quite a few things i found out along the way how to save money
I'd so it again next year if i had the chance.
All the following cars are taken off the mother road as its also known off.
Yes the ramp was here long before the tree, and is one of the oldest garages along route 66, Its been closed since the 70's and the tree has been growing since then.
This is known as the rabbit ranch couldent quite work out why until i asked the guy that lived there, Why so many Golfs? Of course in America there not know as Golfs there VW Rabbits hence the rabbit ranch
Did actually want to bring this home but the seller was a bit slow getting back with shipping prices, Really wanted to bring a car home but after the first week or so i was starting to pee off the wife as it was starting to take over the holiday.
Some of the original route 66 roads are nothing more than dirt tracks and a few places had to turn back, can only imagine the mess off the Mustang underneath the amount of times it ground out People seem to think that a lot of the road is gone when in fact its still 95% drivable its just that the dirt sections are not shown on the normal route so people miss them out by taking the freeways.
Sadly a week after this photo was taken somone set fire to one of the cars burning of 100's of layers of paint and history, More detailed photos of the Cadillac ranch to follow.
