There have I know been some wonderful examples of craftsmanship and ingenuity relating to Kitten builds. Those that I have come across include cars powered by Duratec, Cosworth, MX5 and a host of bike engines.
I'm embarking on a build using a Ford 1.6 Sigma engine coupled to a type 9 5-speed gearbox. The driver and passenger foot wells encroach into the engine bay severely restricting access even if the Ford unit would fit. So I'm planning a removable drop down front similar to the Project Binky Mini.
Now here's the question. Has anybody else done this and if so, any photos please?

Just remove the inner structure leaving a few inches under the screen area to build a new firewall . If you cut the front off you’ll have no strength to hang the doors off . There’s plenty of room , I’ve got a 3uz Lexus v8 in my kitten van without having to remove the front end .

There's a little remedial work needed on the chassis before the serious stuff can commence. It's quite strange that the sites of corrosion are quite local but where there is corrosion it is very bad. For the most part, the chassis is sound. s
