I find that as I get older it's more of an effort to get low for photographs (well getting back up is the issue) and patience is a virtue when it's crowded.
I really must go to one of these as it's just up the road, but I was at Castle Combe on Saturday for the Autumn Classic (photos to follow) and out both days wasn't on.
I was playing spot the Jowett on Saturday as well...

Cracking pics, and once again - some awesome cars there...
Really wanted to head up to this, but we had to go to GTI Festival for the final round of VWDRC Heads Up...
Attendance for which was decimated by the threat of bad weather, but there was still some fantastic racing and some cracking RWYB numbers being run.
Someone needs to take the initiative here and stop all these events clashing! haha (oh and sort out more accurate weather forecasting!)

What a great selection of motors, I like the setting where nothing is regimented and relaxed, I knew I should have gone when we lived a bit closer!!

Indeed there was loads of great stuff. Hardly ever see a Chevy nomad, and there were 2 parked next to each other. There were a couple of F1 cars, they started one and played happy birthday with the computer changing revs and the other one they started and warmed up. Not my thing normally, but the diversity is great I hate to be "one of those people" but the two Chevy station wagons aren't Nomads, they're 4 doors. Nomads are all 2 doors with a wide, sloping centre pillar. Those are still a rare sight though. Every day is a school day If I’d seen any before, I could have had this conversation before and already know this.... as further proof of rareness

Great pics. Loved Tom's AC photo, that was a belter. What saved it from purgatory though was this... You know how to make an old man very happy. In the automotive sense, of course!

I did think of you when I* took that actually, it was an Alpine not a Tiger though *you can tell I took that photo, someone stood in the way, badly framed etc

It was supposed to be throwing it down when I checked the weather yesterday, checked as I went to bed and forecast had changed to showers in the morning and then throwing it down at lunchtime... But in reality it’s been absolutely lovely, so now feel like a cop out for not taking the Fug! Anyway, some photos This is exactly why I will not buy the tickets since they went online only, its a pain in the butt! nothing better than waking up and thinking, gonna go to the scramble today, get there and find Oh its online only, cant go,but if the weather is bad I would not go anyway, know there is a money return if its called off, but in reality they do not call it off,its just shortened just my personal opinion of course, but its like being held to ransome!

Had this conversation a few times now. It does stop the massive queues on the main road whilst they sort payment or turn people around, and I guess it’s good for the organisers to know how many will turn up. But it does mean you’ve got to commit. We are only 10 miles away, so it’s just expensive if we pop up for an hour and then go home soaking wet. But it does take the spontaneity out of it

I somehow missed this thread but it's great and has given me the perfect excuse to not go up the barbers with the kids on a rainy Saturday morning I told you that you need to go low, even showed you. Don't even need to get on hands and knees Tom-stylee, just stick out your bum and hope your back doesn't give out .....aaaaaaaand that came out wrong *ahem* Anyway, excellent thread is excellent. I like that split bug a lot EDIT to add... was that video supposed to be comedic? Bit confused by it but I very much enjoyed the spectacle of two apparent stalwarts of the modified/retro/classic car scene with their own hashtags and everything trying to work out what an Alfa Montreal is. Including "these things over the headlights" Funny as hell

Including "these things over the headlights" Funny as hell We try to keep the videos light hearted. Jason doesn't have an encyclopedic knowledge of cars but is super good at wrangling cameras and editing as well as massively enthusiastic to learn more about cars. Although I guess some sneering dismissive pedantry may be more your speed, so I'll try to include that in future. The other person with Jason when he encounters the Montreal (a car I don't believe he has seen before) is Nick Caro who is a photographer discovering his love for classic cars and the photography thereof.

I'll take someone that can do that, over someone that knows exactly* what that is before they do a decidedly average photo. *Correct answer wins a prize.
