I'm looking to replace the radiator in my metro 100 as winter is coming. It's looking a bit tired anyway. I've looked on ebay & £170 seems to be the going rate. Does anyone know if another car radiator fits from say an mx5 which is readily available or should I just pay the price?

Fitting the mgf radiator is a popular modification.

You'll need to modify the upper mounts and make some brackets. A new one is a bit cheaper than a proper Metro one, so probably isn''t worth the hassle.

Have you priced up a re-core? I once priced a re-core for an Allegro rad. I was quoted £150 plus vodka and tonic at the local rad specialist about 6 years ago - they're expensive to do. I instead paid £50 for an A-series Metro rad for the MIdas that they had in a dusty box in their loft..
