Looking at the work that's gone into it, it's probably quite cheap. Obviously aimed at someone that wouldn't think twice about dropping 40k on their hobby, obviously most of us on here don't even have that to spend on a daily. Pocket change for London isn't it?

Pocket change for London isn't it? £40K would buy you 2 (rough) houses in the Welsh valleys, (a generation ago £40K would have bought you the whole street!)

But how is that even relevant? If you're good with money you could buy the properties, renovate them, refinance and rent them out and have £60-80k.

It's not - not remotely at all - completely and utterly random as we apperaed to have turned left at the junction and gone on to what else can we buy for £40K other than a cheesy Stag.

If you think that is 'pocket change' for London, per se, then you need to get out more! I suspect that those in London who have the small change to buy that would rather hoon around in Gold plated Lambos and the like.

www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TRIUMPH-STAG-AUTOMATIC-JUST-UNDERGONE-A-6500-PROFESIONAL-REPAINT-STUNNING/123909464310?hash=item1cd99460f6:g:bf8AAOSwTBtdMD4zWhen you consider what is out there and make a considered judgement on that car, £40K for a highly personalised vehicle which would have the narrowest band of enthusiasts and even fewer of them who just happen to have £40K hanging out of their trouser pockets, the asking price IS ridiculous in the same way that shelling out nearly £400K on a Rolls Royce Phantom is. That does not in itself mean that people will not do it, it just means that, to the masses, it is highly illogical in a highly illogical world. That seller doesn't have a bog standard restored Stag for sale at £40K, that I could understand, the Stag is an iconic vehicle with many admirers. What he has is a very personalised car that, having spent a small fortune on it, assumes that it can be recouped even though the car is not really BETTER than a fully restored Stag, it is just different. Different is the cars achilles heel. Good luck to the seller if they can get that amount for it. Yawn

I don't like negative comments and i don't really have any love for triumph stags and this one did nothing for me in the first lot of pictures but the second lot just put up in the link by MKX i think it looks much better with the hood on and the colour isn't really miles away from what the stag started with, i once had a BMW M3 in leguna seca blue not bad but it had matching leguna seca blue leather it was a real shock to your eyes and just to bright but after a while we got used to it and when we sold it we were sad to see it go. i think the stag on a normal grey english day with the roof on will possible dull the interior and paint down enough to look not so garish and maybe more classy less flashy. Obviously when selling a convertible you want the sun out best bright weather as your selling the concept but i think the first photo's may have been a bit to bright.
