Are you sure it was the cheapest BMW? If you calculate per KG it might not be that cheap at all. There is not much left of the poor old girl. I have a great deal of respect for you to turn these left overs in a BMW again! You have some great skills!!

I love these E21:s I had one Polarissilver, 318 -82 back when I was 14-15.
Learned how to do spin around and have fun in that one!
Unfortunately it had virtually no floors at the driver side, bought some new BMW floors and sills but never got to fix it before giving it to a friend and unfortunately it's scrap now. I do think I have the chromebumbers and sills still somewhere in the attic.. Had some BMW alu 14" rims as options on it too.
Suddenly I miss that one.

Am I the only person who doesn’t really like 6 pots in e21s? They’re fairly small light car so are much better suited to rorty (or turboed) 4 pot. I like your M42 idea, would make for a much more balanced car. It is original though. The 323 was a 6-pot E21. |

Really like the BMWs of this era. It was these cars which BMW owe their current cache. The whole series of 'shark nose' kidney grilles were all epic... every single one. The interiors with the dashboard angled towards the driver and the large accelerator pedal are so driver focused at a time when the rest of the industry had no idea.
I personally owned a late 635csi Highline and people used to call out to me on the street asking if I wanted to sell it. Loved that car.
Just sold a 2008 325i and the engine in that car was epic. It's 3.0 with about 210hp. Revs to 7000rpm. Highly recommended. You can fit any BMW engine to any chassis if you can splash for an aftermarket ECU.
