The link above refers to Megasquirt clones, no mention of Megajolt or Nodiz? Motorsport Electronics aka. ME and M-Tech are Nodiz. That said, I don't know the story behind it and am previously aware of things not being as they seem. I know of a few people who have had a great experience with Nodiz, with the dashboard being a great feature. I'm also aware that in the MX-5 world, MS systems seemed to hunt with people never being able to cure them, something the ME221 ECU didn't exhibit. So to me, it's all about face value .

Thinking about it, with my Megajolted Minor, I kept a spare EDIS module and coil pack in my boot.My reasoning was that if the Megajolt failed, the EDIS would still work in limp mode and if the EDIS failed, I had a spare. EDIS's were and are cheap compared to the Megajolt. I guess Nodiz is all or nothing unless you buy two and keep a spare.
My Minor and all the failover spares & tools got nicked so it didn't make a difference for me anyway.

I had a megajolt on my series landrover, It allowed me to dial in a much more agressive advance curve for the LPG and still start OK, also wasn't affected by water when wading.
I kept the original distributor and leads in place just pluging the leads into 4 old spark plugs welded to a bracket and pulling the 12V off the coil, if the megajolt ever played up simply needed to re-connect the coil and the plug leads and away we went.
If you are going this route a set of parts from a KA works a treat.
