Great pics. I gave up trying to photograph anything unless it was on the track, too crowded for me.

Nice pictures - thanks for taking the time to post them.
I nearly went on Friday when I was offered a last minute ticket but previous experience of the Revival put me off - too many pretentious pillocks with no interest in the cars or the history (I'm becoming a grumpy old git!)
Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti Goodwood at all - the FOS is a great event and I'm usually there at least once a month to watch race meetings or just dropping in to watch the track days, which usually produce an interesting variety of cars.
Undoubtedly some lovely cars there though - thanks again for posting.

Currently driving a 1972 BMW 1602 as my daily. Don't ask about previous cars - there have been way too many and I stopped counting at 160!

You're guaranteed good weather this year since we're not going... I've just spend a couple of hours watching today's races on facebook, some really excellent battles. Thanks for the pics!

I'm usually there at least once a month to watch race meetings or just dropping in to watch the track days, which usually produce an interesting variety of cars. Hey Disasterbus, just out of interest when you go to watch the track racing do you just drive in or do you have some kind of paid up GRRC style right to be there watching? The reason I ask is that for a few years when I owned a very Goodwood looking car (ie a classic track car) I used to pootle over to Goodwood frequently on random days to watch whatever was being thrown around the track when I got there. I was never stopped and asked for anything to justify me being there, I'd just cruise in, down the tunnel to infield, and I'd park up and enjoy the day including sauntering round the paddocks watching all the tweaking. All free, no hassle. But I always felt that was because I had a Goodwoody car so people had just assumed I was meant to be there. I've never tried it since in my less salubrious whips. But I'd like to do that again. Sometimes those are the best days at Goodwood. No fancy dress, no crowds, no market stalls. Just the track, and acres of room to watch the racing.

I've been very down on the event in its totality, and after a really bad year I decided not to bother again. Then I caved and went again and came away feeling doubled down on the idea of not ever going again. But a couple of years later, and I'm thinking I might want to go again

Apologies to @bdizzle, the OP for going a bit off topic on your thread! No, I'm not a member. My parents and my brother both live within 10 minutes of Goodwood and the road between their houses passes the entrance, so I usually just drop in when passing. More often than not there is something going on. I've been in 'classic' type cars I've owned over the years ('66 Mustang, Mini Cooper, MGB Jag XJ etc), but have been as often in modern 'daily driver' stuff that wouldn't turn heads in Sainsburys car park, let alone Goodwood! I usually park on the outside of the track by the cafe and grab lunch or a coffee in there then watch whatever is going on. No one has ever said anything and it seems a pretty common thing to do. Last time I was there, there were 4-5 ambulances there in the car park - I chatted to them while they were sat watching a track day and they said they had all met up for lunch there while out on a run during an Ambulance Driver Training Course. As I said, I usually just drop in when passing, but the race and track day dates are all on their website I think.

I flippin' love the revival. The bentley race was simply epic, no other word for it. Every other race was also awesome. I'm glad to say ive been to Goodwood for the RR weekender, its a great event for the place, but the Revival IS Goodwood, the best cars doing the best racing with some of the best drivers at the best place.

Great pictures, as always, D to the Biz For me, the Revival is a bunco booth of lies and tricks. It looks gorgeous... sights and sounds and smells... and it entices you in with the promise of wonders undreamt-of and exotic prizes. Yet you know under the gold leaf and garish colours, behind the wurlitzer, whirlwind sound and vision, it's just sawdust and gesso and illusion. Every year I have an @spookytim2 "never again" moment and every year I go again and wallow in being lied to, revel in the thin veneer that the world is a beautiful place, immerse myself in the glorious lie If ever a picture summed up the Revival, for me it's this one Karussel by Nick Liassides, on Flickr Beautiful ladies in wonderful old garb riding a genuinely antique fairground ride and smiling in the guttering gold of a late autumn sun for the sheer joie de vivre of it. But they're actors, paid by The Duke of Richmond and Gordon's theatre sponsorship scheme to sit on the carousel, to make it seem glamorous, to entice in even the most flinty-hearted of nay-sayers. They're whirling in ever-decreasing circles, going nowhere. And if ever there was a metaphor for the whole sorry of it, there you go

I for one would love to go to the Revival, just for the sheer hell of it. I don't own, nor am I likely to own anything from 1966 or earlier, but the sheer delight of seeing SO many gorgeous motors in one place is great. To watch them race must be something else. I love how the exhibitors and racers are asked to turn up in era-specific clothing.
Of course, I know that a lot of the people there are stinking rich and are simply networking to gain more money/show off, but for me it's about the cars. There is nowhere else in this country where you can see such a diverse collection of vehicles being driven how they should be.
