The transit custom is available with air suspension, it basicaly uses the front half of the spring and a panhard rod. There is also a good chance you are going to have wind up problems with a single leaf, if you were to do the above reinstate the original leaves with the back cut off.

The trailing link is a basically a tapered leaf spring which starts about the same thickness as a normal spring at the eye and is about an inch thick by the time it gets to the axle, it needs to have a bit of flex to allow the axle to articulate.

Lol this was pre operation, they gave it a bloody good clean in theatre.
2 am i finally got the feeling back in my fingers, my palm is sore but nothing to bad, i managed to put my piercings back in this morning and held the small balls properly so hopefully no sensation loss due to the nerve damage.
