Buy a vw lt van, strip it down to a rolling chassis, bolt this on top, keep the grime. Be the king at the vw shows.  hmm it just so happens...Sanyi (my neighbour and the person who sold me my 1972 lada and this Barkas) has a vw lt van (former local fire engine) for sale £300 or offers...  If anyone’s interested let me know  |

Right ...might be a slight change of plan here...You see There is a slight war going on between me and my german next door neighbor..... austinpowers and hubnut will understand! Apparently a leaf from one of my trees has blown into her garden ....THIS IS NICHT KORREKT she shouted (whilst clicking her heels together I might add) Ok.....  . So she has tried every sneaky trick including complaining to the council....attempting to humiliate Kata in front of her students (my wife who is an english teacher working in a local school and giving private lessons from home) poisoning my trees trespassing on my land...blocking my access...etc etc...etc. I have tried to keep the peace....but...enough is enough. I will post pics of the situation but I think You all know where this is going.....if she is not happy with my neatly clipped hedge...ill cut it down! Then park my unwashed Barkas and my unloved 70s Lada where the hedge used to be....Ill restore and repaint my half and leave her half unrestored....she makes her living from hosting very loud and uncouth german holidaymakers who quite frankly make our lives a misery! don't get me wrong...i have nothing against germ mans but ....very loud.....very insulting and quite frankly Ive had enough of being dictated to by my neighbour...tress passing on my land pouring sugar and cooking oil into my lawnmower because I dared to cut my lawn after 3 weeks of trying to be quiet so they could ( enjoy their holiday) This week was the last straw when she (Martina but we will call her Angela after the abomination angela merkel) trespassed onto my land and cut down three of my trees..... I hope You will agree that retaliation is not only required but expected  Watch this thread.....Its going to get very very interesting |

It just so happens I know where there’s a brand new engine for one of those. How much . £700 so probably a bit more than you paid for the van. At the moment the Germans are getting very nostalgic, so maybe you should just recreate the Berlin Wall complete with watch towers. Then you have a good excuse to get a Trabant kübel to complete the look.  |

I appologize for the behaviour of my fellow krauts-men (and -women). As long as you don´t plan a swimming pool there should not be a risk of another towel war, starting at 5pm. Do a Dresden... I like that term. |

Hi everyone....sorry for the lack of updates..I think this van is the straw that “broke the camels back” Divorce proceedings are in fact “underway” and no for once I am not joking  Of course it wasn’t the vans fault but rather years of neglect and acrimony on both sides....aaaanyway it is what it is..end of an era but new beginnings for me....I'm starting a b&b in what is now “my half of the house” Id love to start a thread on my house but I don’t think I'm allowed to do that. My b&b will be very much classic car themed but ..I dunno? Perhaps a moderator could pm and advise me? Happy Christmas everybody....much love Ant. Ps I'm seeking volunteers to help sort the house..ie painters...plasterers...tilers...carpenters etc....free accomodation/food/alcohol etc in return Pm me if interested. |

I appologize for the behaviour of my fellow krauts-men (and -women). As long as you don´t plan a swimming pool there should not be a risk of another towel war, starting at 5pm. Do a Dresden... I like that term.  Apologies are definitely long overdue to all german people as well as all the excellent German retro riders  I have no issue with German people......but I just hate my neighbour As someone who regularly uses an angle grinder and has a seemingly endless amount of “rusty projects” parked in my garden not to mention a penchant for expensive hi fi and loud partys.....I can understand why she hates me Live and let live innit ! Ps...Dresden was a disgrace  |
