Starting to contemplate a new trip. Also a new route and possibly a different format. Would buying a 60โs or 70โs wagon from a deceased estate or similar make for interesting, laid back travel, or just kill the joy? My friend Maverick always says โThe adventure starts when sh!t starts going wrongโ Got some thinking to do I guess. I think this is a fantastic idea. The write-up alone would probably be book-worthy. You know what to do Rian as far as we're concerned

......Would buying a 60โs or 70โs wagon from a deceased estate or similar make for interesting, laid back travel, or just kill the joy?..........Got some thinking to do I guess. Sounds like a superb plan. Get those tickets reserved. Corona did mess this one up a bit. Starting to contemplate a new trip. Also a new route and possibly a different format. It seems to have become a yearly thing. So as soon as possible, we will head out again. Corona and any other smoke and mirrors permitting. PS: Kelly at Ethyls was asking Bryan when I was returning. Seems COVID-19 has screwed up their lives too...... But not too much for her not to still mess with my head. Looking forward to the next time craigrk and I get to go over there.

You're planning another road trip, excellent news. Next tripโฆโฆ.. Always in my mind when I get back, when the next one will happen. Covid screwed it up a bit, so the travel money plus some more was spent on building the Rezin Rockit in the mean time. We have another company restructure happening in June so who knows, I may be unemployed this time, thankfully survived the previous one.
ROAD TRIP ANYONE
I have seen this for sale in Colorado And been thinking, buying it and getting it to Missouri to Dennisโs place. Insuring and ownership on his name, and I then pay him for the insurance and become the named driver. Should extend my road trip potential. A Big Block chevy C30 dually under there, 41k miles done. And $1000.00 Colorado Dollars plus shipping to Missouri. Opinions? Agent Orange anyone. Specifications. Can you smell the dust and brown interior. Is there any mileage in this hare brained idea?

It's orange. And it's in the States. Therefore it gets the Bounce approval. I have feeling that interior smells properly funky. And not necessarily in a good way. But what the hell. It's an orange camper with a big block for 1000 bucks. Bounce likes this A lot.

If the US car market is like ours, buy it and by the end of your trip it'll be worth more than what you paid for it!
If that doesn't work out, apologies in advance! But I say "DO IT" in capital letters!

Seems the general consensus So much YES! And if you get stuck for cash just pull over and make some meth ๐๐๐ Of course. Meth. So much YES! And if you get stuck for cash just pull over and make some meth ๐๐๐ This reminded me of that saying a few years ago, If you happened to drive a murdered out X5 you were a proper drug dealer. If it was a X3, you only dealed to family Sounds about right. Itโs โฆ very โฆ brown โฆ If itโs mechanically sound and a โone offโ trip โฆwhy not ๐ I really like the orange and brown combo. WTF โฆ? One offโฆโฆ Hell, thatโs is not my style. No, if this goes ahead, it will become a much bigger thing, kept at Dennisโs in St Louis, and recovered yearly. Also shared with a very select group of trustworthy friends. Maybe even โabandoned in different parts of America โ to be collected the next time. So certainly not a one off. quick rethink DO IT anyway BTW, did I mention that I like orange I may have to think about starting an orange vehicle thread Start that orange thread. I do love orange too. Thanks for your support too . It's orange. And it's in the States. Therefore it gets the Bounce approval. I have feeling that interior smells properly funky. And not necessarily in a good way. But what the hell. It's an orange camper with a big block for 1000 bucks. Bounce likes this A lot. The funky interior is just not a concern to me. If the US car market is like ours, buy it and by the end of your trip it'll be worth more than what you paid for it! If that doesn't work out, apologies in advance! But I say "DO IT" in capital letters! Increased value is a good thing. Owning, enjoying, and also offsetting against the cost of hire, hotel, motel etc will make it a good risk benefit ratio. If it doesnโt work out it would still leave me a winner. A buddy in Ireland made the following post: There aren't too many Guys who have the benefit of friends who could manage such logistics and would be kind enough to do some of the work whilst the proud "owner" is this side of the pond. Add in the large portion of ambition that a project like this needs and the candidate list shortens even further. Though I think I know the name of Last Man Standing.... I'll also start the bidding as I propose she is named "Dusty Crusty But Lusty", And a comment from mate JB Math in Oklahoma I could easily stop by and check it out on my way back to Oklahoma, that is in 3 weeks though, tow it home and store it until we can arrange a trip to take it to Dennis Jones. Followed by: Rian, 8 hours from where it is in Colorado to home, another 8 to STL. I have my truck with me rated for 11,700 lb towing. Or convince Alex Kramer to fly in and we try to get it running and drive it home. ๐ how bad/good are the tires? Makes it seem too easy.
