I had a 1997 2.3 petrol Galaxy Grizz. It was a brill motor, I paid a hundred quid for it, stuck a new exhaust on for the MOT and worked it hard every day for 2 years before it decided to blow its oil all over the nice MOT man during the test.
It was a very capable bit of kit, pulled like a train and could fit loads in the back. I once had it loaded so much with chopped up tree trunk that had come down in bad weather (I was paid to chop up/get rid of said tree) the rear arch to rim gap was non existent but it still kept going. The old bus had captain seats in front, fold-able/removable seats in back and electric everything. I do miss that old motor and would have another in a heart beat.

A bit left field, but my Fiat Multipla 1.9jtd cost a whole £500,the back seats come out easily and has a flat floor. It's as rattly as a 16 year old Fiat usually is but returns 44mpg and seats 6 with every seat being reclinable.

Remember a guy I used to work with buying a multipla when they first came out, not the prettiest of cars gotta be said but reckon with a grizz makeover it could actually work!!!!!
Was a very practical car for him from what I remember and was van like when empty. Bet they can be had for peanuts now too...

Sounds brilliant Question of course is where to find another driveable, MOT worthy £200 banger like that.

Not many out there for sale. Was a very practical car for him from what I remember and was van like when empty. Bet they can be had for peanuts now too... I wonder what I would do to one. Steels?? Need to see if there is one out there, with towbar, for peanuts.

Check Multipla's for rot, most of the bad ones have got scrapped but they hide it quite well.

At least if they haven't even cleaned it, they probably haven't tried to hide anything under a coat of whatever??

How about a bit different, jacked up,all terrain tyres, nato green, lights everywhere, roof racks etc... Proper multi purpose bit off kit?

If you like quirky and different, how about a Honda hrv or even frv.... Had an hrv many years ago, the 1.6 v tec, great engine, serious plodder but rev it hard enough and all hell breaks loose for some fun on the twistys....

It's as rattly as a 16 year old Fiat usually is but returns 44mpg and seats 6 with every seat being reclinable. So........?? 2002 model. 125000 miles, 1.9JTD 200 miles from me. Is this a viable option at £600.00 that does not seem very negotiable The jtd is the one to go for as the petrol 1.6 is a touch underpowered. The later mutijet diesel also has a dpf, whereas the jtd doesn't. Watch out for worn clutches as there's a dmf to worry about. Rear trailing arm bearings go,which can be spotted by checking for any excessive camber on the rear wheels. Rot wise, check the rear subframe, especially the bump stop area.Drop links appear to be a yearly service item but cheap to swap. Alternator is a sod to change on jtd,so check that's working. For £600 I'd say it could be an interesting and different option. Fiat forum is also worth joining if you do go for it.

Does that matter? You cant get much more than a small typewriter into a Ferrari. I much prefer the quirky nature and looks of the Mk1 to the bland flat conformist styling of the Mk2

I've had people tell me my 6 wheel rrc is ugly, but I love it.
