Having both a gen 1 and gen 6 civic, I was very interested in the development of this car and from a driving dynamics point of view too being rwd, I just find it a crying shame there isn't a 2 door and the price is fairly high still though I have the same gripe with the leaf. They need to be cheaper to get more interested because you can get a pretty high specced ICE car for that money and not have to worry about day trip charging. Having watched the fully charged drive on youtube, the turning circle is comical.

We touched on this in my readers rides thread. I love it but I think it's going to be priced too high.

I think it looks great, albeit £30k is still alot of money for a city car. If it was closer to £20k i’d seriously be tempted to convert from diesel to electric as a daily.

I'm disappointed it doesn't look more like the concept, as the concept was quite an exciting prospect with its bemch seat and cool proportions.
However, it's still one of the best looking and interesting electric vehicles in a reasonable (not mine though) budget

It depends on the range as well. You'll be saving a couple of K a year on fuel alone, and if you work in the City or centre of potential 'Emission Zones' Coventry, for example is being talked about becoming one ; That will effect 10,000s of people who commute there, and Birmingham will be one from January next year. Then there's the grant to think about, albeit the grant has become smaller lately, like most good ideas...

Indeed, i’d need it to do 100 miles a day without charge which may be on the upper limits in winter/darkness etc etc However I can charge at work for free, which would save me around £300 a month in fuel...

Same here. If the emission zone comes into Coventry, I would have been paying £8 a day to go to work. Ironically, the Mondeo is exempt, but only just. The BMW however isn't . Mercedes also is too . But an £8 a day journey for a 20 mile commute soon becomes boring .

. If they looked like this I might consider selling pieces of myself to get one, but the released version is something I happily have but only if I needed too. I'm sure there will be more interesting looking cars released in the near future. I saw a Twizy today, but now that ive searced for a picture of one i'm not sure it was standard. Its left me with silly thoughts about one that id rather not have.

i think this car is a big deal, its not the first 100% ev, not the first EV city car, but it feels like its a real pivotal flag planting car for some reason

Even with just 3 wheels its cool, but if it had 4 wheels it would be top of my list.

Too expensive for what it is, and the range is laughable

Too expensive for what it is, and the range is laughable (I'm assuming you're referring to the Nobe?) You're right, it seems expensive for what it is but that typifies new electric cars in general, plus you're paying a premium for the novelty of the styling which you either get or you don't. It's principally going to be purchased as a city car and the range is more than adequate for that type of application, (e.g. the Twizy shown above has a range of 100km).

I really liked the concept but not keen on the finished thing, it's lost some of it's retro charm for me and looks more in keeping with current small cars. Perhaps safety rules dictate some things.

Twizy you say.... ;-) Ive seen those before, a part of my brain I don't very often explore quite likes them. The one I saw yesterday wasnt one of those, It went past me in a 50 zone so it was hard to say what was different, but it wasnt standard.
