Popped to the local shops to get some boring essentials. As I walked past the charity shop I decided to have a browse. Its usualy a rather naff charity so I don't tend to make a point of going in there. This time I think my poker face failed. Its hard to tell if its all there as some of the parts a off the frames, but there are loads of loose bits in the box. It hasnt been started and came with an old bottle of glue, and a knife. For what I paid the glue and knike are probably worth that. Its quite a thing. Its 22in long and the shape of it is spot on. To be quite honest just having the body sat there is quite a sight I'm going to have a proper check of it later. When I was in the shop I looked for certain bits and everything I looked for was there so things are looking good. Not sure what to do with it, build it standard, build it as a racer (there are parts available with this in mind so it seems. Could get expensive), Build it as a custom, or sell it. Bloody nice thing though.

It's a good kit, I built one about 20 years ago, I ended up throwing it away a few years ago as it had sat collecting dust all that time

Ive been looking at the upgrade parts and I can see that as a slippery slope. Webbers are available, the dunlop steels, a different battery, brake master cylinder (missing in the kit), a whole different engine, speaking of which, I found a pic Amazing As said ive not done a kit for years, but the last one I did was to quite a high standard imo, and with the practice ive had on hotwheels over the last couple of years will help me out also, and ive already got the plan in my head for a cafe racer which I'm sure I could do a blinding job of, but its a big job, lots of parts, and a potentially rather pricey dust catcher. I do have some suitable vintage genuine original Beatties glue for it which came with the kit. Unbelivably it hasnt gone hard and looks like new. There is also an unused vintage Swann Morton knife. Nice.

This kit was re-released a couple of years ago. I bought one, thinking it would make an impressive model to put in my office. I started looking at all the after-market upgrades and realised you could quite quickly spend £100s. Decided to leave it till another day, so now its still in the box gathering dust.
