Wheeler Dealers are doing a sort of spin off program, the premise being you start with a banger & trade it up until you get your dream ride. Now Mike Brewer has already done this, but in this series it’s basically a random guy, if you like. Anyway, his end goal car is a Delorean. So this weekend the film crew came to our annual club gathering in Kings Lynn & did a bit of filming of the cars, with him being interviewed etc. Weather was pants but hey, not a lot you can do. Not sure when it’s being broadcast, I think this is one of the first bits they’ve done & then they work sort of backwards from what I gather.

That’s good as it looks like it will be uk based.
Wheeler dealers now with it being state side isn’t as good as it once was.

Have I got this right. There'll be no fixing up - just car trading? I only watched Wheeler Dealer for the fixing up bits. Id fast forward through all the buying and selling stuff as I always suspected it was a bit staged.

.....and the "fixes" werent? the later the series the less you saw. cars would miraculously reappear from the paint shop as if by magic , I'm thinking particularly of the hy van which would have needed enough prep to fill a whole series of episodes!

OOOOOH them DeLoreans are looking lovely ^ .....and the "fixes" werent? the later the series the less you saw. cars would miraculously reappear from the paint shop as if by magic , I'm thinking particularly of the hy van which would have needed enough prep to fill a whole series of episodes! That Goblin Works Garage show is an even worse offender for that. They talk in very general terms about "We've bought this car. It's an American Car, from the 70's"... "The engine needs work" and "We need to fix some things" without ever being specific about anything. They go from a wreck, to an obviously traced-off doodle of 'the project plan' which looks exactly like the wreck but on different wheels and slammed or raised, and then they sell a vaguely interesting finished vehicle to a wholly unconvincing 'buyer' actor at the end. Terrible. The first car they did was an Escort Mk2 that they painted in Renault Sport graphics and colours and they didn't even seem to realise it... Early Wheeler Dealers was better than the more recent stuff, and the US diversion was okay for a few episodes at most, but it's still quite watchable IMHO.

Funny how the nose-on ones at the end look a different colour. I expected to see them in another shot and discover they'd been painted graphite grey. I'm now off to google "painted DeLoreans" to see if anyone ever has thrown a bit of paint at one. Edit: OMG! They look ruddy amazing painted!

None of those in the pic are painted but there are lots that are around the world. My mate has a black one. All cars sold in the Middle East back in the day, were painted in a colour of your choice, the would NOT sell you a stainless one. Painted ones are worth around 10k less

I was there at the event when they handed the car over. The guy who bought it, did so because his father had worked at the Delorean factory in Dunmurry during the production of the cars

Didn't want to derail the thread by posting loads of pics of the coloured ones.
I can appreciate they'd be devalued greatly by the addition of paint but man they look so good in colour!. Different colours bring out different aspects of the car's personality.

Great. Good pictures. You must have seen the Supercar Megabuild Delorean then? Yeh pretty much seen all the stuff that they have ever been on. As you can imagine it’s quite a small community, so if one is going on any kind of program, we usually get to know.

Yes, I know a German guy with a yellow one. He has gone mad on it, yellow fuel, brake, clutch lines, interior, wheel centres etc etc etc
