wow.... that escalated. as its "my" thread i would just like to remind everyone that i just wondered (based on the trailers and new line up) how the new series would be received. clearly tg is still capable of promoting very diverse opinions....and that is without the master of all opinions , clarkson , being anywhere near!! i wouldn't normally quote myself... but this popped up titled "well , that escalated quickly"...i think i might be the guy in the yellow shirt! 9gag.com/gag/av76QWb?ref=pnseemed rather appropriate.....

I’d watch anything with Chris Harris in as he is genuinely passionate about what we all love - cars. Having the other guys make it more of entertainment program, which is no problem as long as it’s entertaining (something that the end of the Clarkson era definitely wasn’t)
Also kind of related is Chris Harris’ new podcast which I’m thoroughly enjoying - so far covering subjects like the Mclaren F1 and historic racing.

Thing is... once it's aired the discussion becomes a review, and if you haven't even watched it you can't make a valid contribution. So I'm only watching it for due diligence.

It started well, an escort and a mini, whats not to like? The presenters seem to get on well, but its the same old top gear its been for years and thats my main gripe. I'll be intersted to see how the series progresses, ive seen bits on the adverts that I want to see, but as a format its just too long in the tooth. And Paddy...

I haven't watched tonight's as I didn't know it was on lol.
However, the only presenter I didn't like (Harris) is the only one they kept 🤦🏼♂️

I enjoyed it, I watched it with my 14 year old son who thought it was hilarious, I’ve always enjoyed watching Flintoff in stuff and I don’t mind Paddy either, just wasn’t sure I’d like them in this format but so far so good for me. Paddy’s Escort brought back some memories for me. My hand painted Mk2 1100 circa 1991. 😎 The XR1 1/2.

I didnt want to have to watch Paddy McGuinness. But it's Freddy Flintoff that will stop me watching any more.
I thought it was tired, predictable and unremarkable.
New format, or GTFO.

glad to see that lame star in a lame car has been dropped. ferrari seg was dull as... ethiopa was stunning.... mcguinness was borderline bearable.... flintoff needs more practice... and harris was the glue that kept it all together! ill be watching out of curiosity to see if it improves but all in all far better than the first episode of the last incarnation.

Paddy should do well if he likes it and stays, he is a funny guy, I thought Andrew "Freddie" Flintoff was a bit too quiet, but Chris is O.K. The Ethiopia trip was a good starter for the new series.
