That has made my day. Should be in a museum, as it is, mabie washed. Its like someone read the rule book on 70's customs, had a drink, and did it, and had more drink, and carried on.

Yeh check out those ‘frenched’ in wing mirrors & that interior. Wind the window down & polish ya watch at the same time on the door covering 😃

Got to love a 70s early 80s custom I’ve got great memories of Chelsea cruise as a kid back then , it needs saving as it is surely?

I will stick my neck out and say that it is utterly hideous. I'm not even sure that it wasn't hideous back in the day when metal flake, draylon and Jack ups were fully acceptable and encouraged. A nice period piece tbf, mind you the Marina O.C may be interested to see that it is an early and genuine, by the look of it, TC model. Sometimes the past should be left there, it was not always that wonderful.

I completely missed the frenched wing mirrors the first time, probably the most subtle thing about that car, unlike the bonnet, there is so much going on with that bonnet.
Omfg its even got staggered slotmags.
Just realised its a K reg. Marinas came out in 71 so its from the first year of production. Museum it.

I'm afraid I'm with Rob M . It's horrid. An amazing window into history, but no more appealing than the generation of Combat Saxos on 20s that followed twenty years later

Last on the road nearly ten years before I was born. So local or not I’ve never seen it.
I’m sure we have a family friend with a very low mileage marina in storage. Never been my thing so I’ve never looked into it.

Don’t let Top Gear see it. There will be a piano dropping before you can say custom car

At the time I couldnt understand it either.

Remember the Retrorides ethos "Everything has potential"
in this case hopefully as a Chinese fridge freezer.

As a period piece I love the fact that this exists as a perfect example of a certain sort of car. It's not Revenge or Hot 'N' Bothered but one of hundreds or thousands of similar cars built around the 70s. Owner was probably a dedicated Custom Car reader (possibly bought for the non vehicular content at the time) and thought "I fancy a bit of that" Bolt on goodies probably bought one pay cheque at a time. Obviously it wasn't a proper show car but I bet the owner had a load of fun with it.
Aesthetically it's all over the place but I'd still like to see cleaned up and it back to working condition
