Hope you can get to the bottom of the problem, I did have issues with a pattern idle control valve. Of the same type on my Mk2 Uno, seems those original Bosch ones are hard to get now. And if you can, they are very expensive My pattern part I bought didn't even last 12 months, before it packed in and caused the throttle to stick on. Which took me a bit of time to work out, that the cause was that replaced part!! Clearly the one I bought was poor quality, but as it was all I could get at the time I had no choice. Good to see it passed the MOT all okay, and looking good with the replacement rear light and indicator.

What are the Vacuum Lines for on the Sun Roof
|
|
1996 - Subaru Impreza 2.0 (Farm Rip - Scrapped) 1999 - Ford Fiesta 1.3 (Another Farm Rip - Rotting in Field) I know these 2 don't really count 2001 - Mk4 Golf Estate - (Daily) PD130 with PD150 turbo and new engine. Sadly Scrapped 2003 - Saab 9-5 Aero Estate

Vacuum is routed inside the sunroof seal when you open the handle so that the seal collapses and allows sliding the glass.
BTW, it is very unlikely that your engine running problems are related to the intake piping upstream from the air cleaner. There is a semi-hidden vacuum elbow between the throttle body and cylinder head, very close to the intake manifold. Check that for cracks. Also, a bad Lambda sensor will cause bad running on the Bosch Mono-Jetronic which your car has.

I can't seem to get to the bottom of it so I've ordered a whole used throttle body with all the bosch stuff still attached. Hopefully that'll do the trick..

I'll be switching out the throttle body so might aswell do it at the same time. Hopefully that will fix everything. Forever.

Stuff has been going on with the car, just havn't been posting because I've been working on the house an awful lot. Truth be told, I lost heart for a while! You'll find out why a bit later. Just as we were moving into the new place I decided to get the car booked in to the garage to get the gearbox changed. I was never going to do it myself and I felt like it would never get done otherwise. The poor car needed to be jumped after having sat waiting for a month while I found the cash. Everything went quite smoothly with that, the gearbox is so much better but the linkages could do with changing to crisp up the shift a little bit. On to the bad bit. Unfortunately, the car filled up with water during the really heavy rain we had a while ago. I can't find any photos from when I was literally bailing it out and collecting it with a sponge. Here are some photos of what was left after I couldn't bail any more water out. Rear Passenger footwell: Front passenger footwell complete with more rotting underlay: So basically, I had to pull the whole lot out: ....with this smug-looking fellow staring at me! So, this final picture shows what I'm up to at the moment: trying to find out where the leaks are coming from. The next stage is to take out the dash and re-seal any areas that are letting in water. Then I can clean the interior properly and put it all back in. Then I'm going to convert it to a carburettor with manual choke and ditch the fiddly fuel injection system completely. I think it's for the best...

Had a wee read from start to finish to refresh my memory of this pug thread!
Feel your pain with the leaks, been there at some point and currently with all my cars!
Now you have gutted the interior, it would be an ideal time to have someone (or you) pour a hose over the car, and i'm sure the source of the leak will become apparent!
Good luck!

Good news about the gear box, shame about the leak! Had a small leak on mine too - was coming in at the rear wheel arch. Did lots of reading up on 205 leaks though. Common areas are the boot, the badges on the rear quarter, the rear window seals. Could your water have made its way from the back? Oh, and the sunroof drains can leak into the footwell, I'm vtold.

Seems to be coming in from under the dash and there's another small one just below the A pillar trim that ends up in the front footwell. Nothing seems to be coming in around the rear door/wheelarch area but I will keep an eye out. Cheers for that! There is a small ammount of water coming in through the boot from inside the actual bootlid, it has handy drain holes that go straight into the boot. I'm planning on getting it sorted when it goes in for some bodywork at some point next year. Sunroof channels are all good and they drain out underneath the car. Will try to keep this thread more up to date once I get going again.

Don't need a hose, the weather is diabolical here today! On a more serious note I have grabbed a few things to help treat the patches of surface rust on the floor. Everything should be taken care of in the first week of January. Enlisted a mate to help to take the dash out and come back a few days later to put it back in. Took a few days off to chill out so that I could actually look at the car again. Thanks for the comment, helps to keep the motivation up. Hopefully I can enjoy the thing soon.
