So with the mini at home I had the chance to get it up on the spit. It was terrible... The boot floor was made of plywood 😂 I cut and welded away for weeks but didn't get many photos as there were a few times I wanted to give up.

One of the first jobs was to go about removing that boot floor... Initially I wanted to run the radiator under the boot so I used square box to raised the floor up Once that was in I cut an old roof into flat sheet, welded it in and seam sealed.. Overall a good result... Definitely better than wood 😂

Boot floor was done. Next was to sort out topside... Overall the car has had new floors New rear quarters Rear de-seamed (don't do it!) Mk1 taillight conversion All taken back to what I considered an acceptable level

Next job was rust prevention Etch primer followed by upol Raptor liner on the underside and the full interior of the car (including inside of roof) due to the sound deadening qualities of the stuff I swear by this method as all the problem areas are now encased in this miracle product. You'll notice welds still visible etc but this didn't bother me owing to the fact that the car was not a restoration or a concourse attempt... Look at it as a very solid shell now

Paint.... Now I'm not a painter. But if anyone has ever built a car they will know the satisfaction of knowing every step they could have done themselves they did... Here's my attempt.... Outside... With a £30 gun and some tractor enamel

Engine. The engine I'm using is a really simple 1.7 8v diesel Here's a picture of it in the corsa... Again not many pictures as it was all experimental Yes the exhaust came straight-ish out the bonnet and yes the supercharger ran off the auxiliary v belt.. I used a 1.4tsi passat supercharger mounted directly to the isuzu inlet as by chance the isuzu inlet was splittable so it was actually a very easy task.. This was then force fed by a big silly Chinese t3 No charge pipes connecting the two in this particular pic

So with the mini now in a reasonable state the next job was to try and cram this derv in there I used an original subframe and just chopped it back Used some more box as I can't commit to buying a pipe bender I knew that I'd need to run a mcphearson style strut just due to the added weight and lack of space This is what I like to call subframe 1.0 I have no access to any machinery other than an angle grinder and a small combi welder

With the subframe 1.0 mountable The engine was the next concern on the list I ended up using corsa Sri 260mm brakes as I couldn't run anything smaller than a 15" wheel The diesel just doesn't rev high enough and if I was on 13's it would be screaming its nuts off The coilovers are from a mk1 golf The pic below shows the basic routing of the boost pipes I have since gone down the water to air charge cooling route As previously stated this was in the very early development stages so yes.... It's a mess

With the turbo moved above the gearbox I ended up having enough room to mount a rad up front.. But running over 2bar of boost I expect to have cooling issues... Well if the head doesn't decide to venture into orbit

The alternator had to be moved to one side and run backwards... This is not ideal but is common practice on the mini conversion scene Then due to a relationship breakdown the mini had to be moved... Here's how it sits now... Just waiting for the summer

More piccy's Was gifted a clubby front so zip tied it on to check clearances... There's a few issues 😂 Recently purchased a fibreglass flip front so that old yellow thing ended up in the skip The car itself has been through so many changes over the 8 solid months I worked on it daily... I really cannot wait to get back on it
