Thanks for the feedback guys, I'll keep going then! I went to Mods N Minis night at the Ace Cafe recently. A bit quite but it was a good night and I'd not been for a couple of years. It was good to catch up with a couple of long time classic mini friends who also now own Binis. Untitled by Nicholas Horne, on Flickr Untitled by Nicholas Horne, on Flickr Untitled by Nicholas Horne, on Flickr A few days later I lost the supercharger whine, about 90% of my horses and the dash lit up like Blackpool illuminations. This was the culprit. The crank pulley/damper that drives the charger had decided that being one part was overacted and decided to be two instead. Untitled by Nicholas Horne, on Flickr Rubbed a bit in the process. Untitled by Nicholas Horne, on Flickr I could have stuck a cheapo replacement on, or even a genuine BMW one but I figured what the hell, might as well do it proper and give the credit card a spanking. Untitled by Nicholas Horne, on Flickr Untitled by Nicholas Horne, on Flickr Rated for over 800hp and drag racing. I think it should last OK in the little MINI. So yeah, another weekend off it looking like this ....... Untitled by Nicholas Horne, on Flickr ..... but the new pulley is actually 0.8% oversized due to them not being able to make them any smaller. This means I now have more boost! OK, only 1psi, but every bit counts.

I've recently replaced my much faster 20vt mk2 golf with an immaculate 05 cooper s myself, having said I'd never own one, I'm eating my own words. They're unbelievably good out the box and prove outright power isn't everything. Luckily mines a chilli with factory LSD. All I've done so far is fit a TimW airbox mod with a KnN ru1320, put a new belt/tensioner on and an ultra gauge.
Actually, I bought a hornet and took it off within 48 hours 😂 turns out mine has no cats which exacerbates the noise and shotgun noises! I'm really struggling to get a straight answer on what exhaust other than a jcw is alright with decats? My only other option is to go standard manifold and buy a direnza I think?

We had a great little mini that we had many an outing at Oulton Park as it's nice and local for us. It was totally striped we estimated the weight at just over 900kg (if you take the manufacturers start weight and minus what we removed). Reduced pulley, toyo R888R tyres, lowered with stiff springs, Carbo Tech pads (a must those things are so aggressive and do not fade), high temp brake fluid (as with no fade the next step is the fluid boils). Rear wing to try to get some back end weight. Then the usual one bucket harness and steering wheel, lexan drivers & passenger. Eventually, piston two decided life was no longer worth living and had ago at damaging the cylinder on the way out. Great car for track, we have now got the F56 mini as they come with the BMW B48 engine, Mini claim 192BHP, when ours went on a rolling road it made over 200BHP (stock) and then mapped to a safe 295BHP, it's the same engine used throughout the BMW range and runs 275BHP in some cars.

What no compression looks like- Also forgot, race battery relocated to passenger side for weight loss and straight cut down F56 exhaust then fitted as we chopped out all the old battery cage and just had a flat rear boot. Here it is with 16's on as when we where on the weight chase they only weighed something like 3.7kg each, soon gave up with that and went back to 17's as it just span up all the tine -

Love the car. Love that you use it, totally. Great write up and details, thank you. I recently started this thread forum.retro-rides.org/thread/209302/mini-ready-silly-mods-retro and have found myself wanting one more and more. I suspect the insurance would be interesting for me, considering my 1.4 Berlingo is £378.00 per year. (I have a company car and had no modern insurance history to speak of) Looking forward to more on your car.

I’m in my 20’s, a fair few modifications all declared and I pay very little more than that on a 2005 R53 JCW.

Yes, it's on MiniTorque. Nice to see a few other R53 owners on here and ones who give them the beans as well. Crystal Palace this weekend for Motorsport at the Palace and my first ever sprint event there.

We need some sort of retro coming out inspired hash tag to make it a proper movement.

Motorsport At The Palace yesterday was such an awesome event and historic venue, I'll certainly be back next year. I finished 6th in class and the 2nd fastest FWD car, seeing as the class structure was age based I'm happy with the result. My brother and his wife live nearby to Crystal Palace so my niece and nephew came along as my pit crew. Horney! Nice to see you at this parish I remember you from the Golf GTi forum - not a fan of BINIs myself but REALLY appreciate what people such as yourself can do to them and the performance they give. And - as stated above - you are USING it! Bookmarked

As usual, not updated this in ages. Sorry. Since the sprint at Crystal Palace I've done a few trackways. First up, my first ever visit to Cadwell. What a circuit! Had an amazing day until limp mode kicked in at about 4pm. Limped it back home (6 hours!) and turned out it was a MAP sensor failure. Pics and vid: Untitled by Nicholas Horne, on Flickr Untitled by Nicholas Horne, on Flickr Untitled by Nicholas Horne, on Flickr Untitled by Nicholas Horne, on Flickr Some good footage of me chasing my mate Brian is his MINI in this lot Second up Castle Combe with my Dad. 2434 by Nicholas Horne, on Flickr 0748 by Nicholas Horne, on Flickr 0742 by Nicholas Horne, on Flickr I have video from this, I still haven't got round to editing it! Then I went to Llandow for a track day I organised. The exhaust Felxi went on the first session of the day. Damn it! Untitled by Nicholas Horne, on Flickr So only short video of the MINI but there is the added bonus of some MX5 content when I was thrown the keys to my mates MK3 MX5 (which he's just bought off my wife!). Time for some non track action and a weekend in a wet and windy field in Bristol for The International Mini Meet 2019. Untitled by Nicholas Horne, on Flickr Much Cider and BBQ meat was consumed. A great weekend despite the awful conditions. The weekend after IMM? MiTP (Mini In The Park) at Mallory Park. Would be rude not to do a couple of track sessions! Following that a well deserved winter break. Phew!
