I wonder if it's a cut-down and lightly reworked Peugeot 306 hardtop. It's probably a cut-down saloon, but they could have also started out with a Siam Di Tella pick up if that was all that was available. Seems more likely they used a saloon, all the same.

Good shout on it being a 306 hardtop, if its not that its not far away. It looks to have longer front doors, like pids 2dr, it also has a standard saloon boot, the pickup has standard front doors. Ive looked at roofs for the 8crate, the problem is the roof is quite wide, the only one close is a 57 chevy, and that wont look custom enough. Anyhow, I'm more interested in getting pids mini-magnette finished. Just waiting for the last round of milliput to set.

I had a set of wheels I wanted to do something with, on a van I wasnt keen on. I decided on doing something to one of these, just like this but chipped and knackered Made a start on it, and soon decided it needed clear windows, so I took this one, which was mint, and pulled it apart. Whilst it was in bits, I gave it a detail to get rid of the brown plastic bits, and fitted the tinted glass. Better. Then, I took the first one and got rid of the bonnet scoop, smoothed the bonnet, smoothed the bed, painted it, detailed it, and fitted the wheels Not sure how I prefer the tyres, plain or pinstriped? The paint is how it came out of the tin, I havnt polished it yet.

I prefer the striped tyres myself. Excellent work as ever.

Cheers all, I did it green because of the tyres, but once it was done I wasnt sure if it looked better without the pinstripe. Pinstripes it is. This is the next one. Matchbox Ford Model A saloon. Started it a while back and wasnt sure what to do with it, and still don't. I chopped the back off and filled the arches to turn it into a cab, had thoughts of doing a roofchop but it would end up looking like a boneshaker, and I quite like the high roof. And what to do with the backend? Pickup? Might look better if I could find some narrow wheels for it. Ratlook or smart?

Nice bit of damage on that, when ive tried to that to a diecast I end up cracking it. My dad did one in around 1978. Still got it. He almost let me repaint it once. Glad I didnt.

Not sure what happened there, but I can't seem to replicate it, other than physically copying them and pasting them in now.

Saw a red matchbox MB GT today, don´t know if it´s already known here? Or a yellow Honda Civic mk1?
