I was looking at one of these: A B2 Passat and thought that there may be nothing that can be done to make it look cool. No lowering, no wheels, no nothing. It may be 'uncoolable'?! Any other cars you can think of that can't be polished away from being a t.u.r.d?

Nothing is impossible to make cool. It depends on the extremes you are willing to go to. Imagine that Passat with a Phaeton V10 engine, coilovers and banded steelies with some subtle body mods and you have a show worthy cool car

This is the one I was thinking after reading the post. I can't think of anything that doesn't respond to at least wheels and a drop.

You sir, are wrong I believe the mission statement of this site is 'Everything Has Potential' So what's the point of trying to say 'some cars have none'? I say: "If you can't see the potential, you aren't using your imagination hard enough"

It's just a big golf, hence all of the golf styles should work.

I think the B2 Passat Coupe was quite cool as it was (Though I am biased as I spent a lot of my youth ragging about in a Gold 3spd auto ) But as said before everything has potential...

I personally find cars of that era "fully" cool. Just get it looking clean and looked after and it will get my (possibly worthless) stamp of coolness approval

Any other cars you can think of that can't be polished away from being a t.u.r.d? I got the feeling that BellyBuilder was only making a statement to see what came out the woodwork. He has posted too many interesting, thought provoking threads. forum.retro-rides.org/thread/199283/cars-discovered-existedLook in his profile and all his old threads, to me he often asks unanswered questions, answers the same and contributes to various threads. Naaaahhh..... I think he was purely poking the proverbial bear. Some really good examples posted here, and of course like so many of the less common species of cars out there, has me wanting one too.

I'm assuming this is akin to the "Leylands can't look cool" thread to get people proving the opposite. There's nothing like reverse psychology to get people posting stuff.

If its not already cool, wheels and lows makes it cool, and I honestly cant think of any car that theroy cant be applied too, except mabie my Cube, but thats not retro so it doesnt count.

Come to think of it, the more uncooler it is before lowering, the cooler it becomes once lowered. For example, Mk1 Escort is cooler than a lada, (debatable) but once lowered, a Lada is cooler than a MK1 Escort (runs for cover)

I think it's pretty cool to begin with, without all the bling.
