Great to hear Chris 😎 Sorry for the late response, was busy sleeping off yesterday's daytrip😂 As for your earlier statement about not being able to paint a car for £1500. What a load of rubbish. Of course you can.....right after the £3000 bill for getting the car ready for paint., and right before the £1000 polishing bill..🤣🤣 Thanks Johnny

Just got up and read this thread. Brilliant news, congratulations Chris. Now perhaps I can have my tutor, guide and mentor back, with his masterclasses of how to do it right, so I can pick up a few crumbs of knowledge to try to follow in his footsteps. The Obi Wan Kenobe of car restoration has returned... the force be with you (with acknowledgements to Lady GN's past film history!!!)
Edit - Obviously, The Force IS very strong within you!!!

Phew...what a stressful time.
Were they the people who were friendly when you moved in or were they always not so welcoming?
Time to move on with life.
edit..also agree with getting cctv if you havnt already, incase of any vandalism?
Have you been able to use the workshop at all during this time? They were ok when we first moved here but have become somewhat legendry at whining on about things since last summer when they decided to kick off - I haven't talked to them since nor do I see myself doing so in the future either - it's no skin off my nose - it's the amount of outright deceit that they have employed that annoys me more than anything - I think now that they have been quite naïve has the local authority online publishes all information / objections / letters of support etc on planning applications so it became transparent what they were up to and thankfully I could defend my corner - I hope it's the end of it but somehow they are probably going to have a go at catching me out - lets see how it goes - I installed CCTV has soon has this erupted has I was aware of some of the tactics they were employing and by doing this it prevented any trespass on our property from them - I am going to have to see how it goes - they are restrictions to the planning application I can only work on 2 cars at any one time and there are working hours to comply to - hopefully they now have better things to do - Chris

In the village of Great Massingham, Norfolk, there was an 'agricultural blacksmith' and this business was on 2nd. generation trading as such. It fully supported the local agricultural area, and had a large clientele. As is happening all over Norfolk, cram as many houses onto small plots as you can, and so planning permission was granted for the errection of a dwelling house alongside the yard of the blacksmith's place. House was duly built and sold to an incomer. The new occupant being from away and not at all au fait as to the activities of a working village in a farming area, started his battle with the blacksmith. Now many incomers are fully up to speed as how to cause problems, and particularly if there is a supposed noise issue. Well the upshot was that the local council had to drop and enforecement notice on the blacksmith, which restricted his hours of working, and use of such equipment as grinders, etc... The impact on the business was quite large and ultimately it became un-economic to continue. So blacksmith applied for planning permission to build houses on his yard and got it. Moaning neighbour now had a new house sat 1 metre off his boundary, similar to how properties are built in the Home Counties. Oh dear, methinks he moved to Great Massingham to be further from his neighbours and somehow his plan was scuppered. There are also cases of farmers who got planning permission to convert old buildings which were not suitable for modern day use, only to find that the new occupants shut their activities down, due to noise nuisance, etc... A balmy world we live in.

Great result. Bet some of the local authority officers and councillors are petrol heads. Certainly helps your cause 👍
We had new neighbours move in last year (always a worrying time) I've always been open about working on my projects in the garage some of which require a fair bit of noisey air tools
I told them Up front that if I was brassing them off to just give me a shout over the fence and I'd leave it til another time. Fortunately they turned out to be reasonable people and don't give me any grief

^^^ I think so - sure we can fit 300 Retro riders & their cars all around his neighbours drive for an outside party till the small hours +1 Questions : where & when (I need advance notice to refit my Pioneer subwoofer - it works great as an outside party disco ), and could we make it after April (we have a new maid starting & I've been asked to stay local so I can lend a hand).

You can now get a signwritten van and park it opposite their drive for a daily reminder. Or apply for a billboard in the garden just for fun 😀

What restrictions have the council put on you painting in the garage??? From what i have seen, you are not compliant for 2k or water borne materials, as in correct booth/filters and the all important certificate to prove your not harming the environment..... Bloody yearly 'checks' cost me £600 pa That is above noise pollution in a residential area...

What compliance do you need for water borne?

I don't mind answering questions but I am not on here to be interrogated whilst you appear to have already formed your own assumptions from a few images of my workshop - so you get on with what you do - Whilst I get on with what I do best

Grumpynorthener to Happynorthener? Great news on getting this sorted, are you going to change your name... Semi-related, I'm relocating from North East (maybe to South West) an understand why folk might change from Grumpy to Happier Questions : where & when (I need advance notice to refit my Pioneer subwoofer), and could we make it after April (we have a new maid starting & I've been asked to stay local so I can lend a hand). That sort of thing isnt a problem round my way. Its more like a competition. One turns it up, they all turn it up. Please clarify - do you have a surplus of subwoofer-equipped retros, or an over-abundance of maids ? (both sound interesting, but enquiring minds would like to know )
