Are you insulating it inside, if you are what type Mark?
No I don't think I will. My wood garage was fully insulated and was a dream in the winter to keep at 70 degrees but it was also a sauna in the summer.
Always had brick garages with timber roofs with no insulation before and have not found them to be too cold - 10 mins with 4 or 5 heaters usually gets them reasonably warm as long as garage is draught proofed.
I did consider it but TBH the hassle with fitting shelves/electrics/fire extinguishers or anything else to the walls combined with the fairly easily damaged surface of Celotex with a plasterboard finish outweighs the heat advantage for me.
Wood/felt roof works as a good radiator/insulator even in the winter as soon as a bit of sun hits it.
Yes it will be rendered - no I don't like breeze blocks!.
November last year I got front, my side and part of the rear of mine rendered, then my neighbour refused my access to render from her side. She was in her 90's and housebound so she had earned the right to be crabby, WAAF ground crew in WW2. Sadly she died in April and the house is up for sale. I don't care now. let the new purchaser look at a 40' x 8'5" block wall......
How will you deal with water ingress under the main fornt door - as the external slab is the same level as the internal slab. I expect water will be blown or run under the door? I'm guessing a gulley will be cut into the slab?
Oops - just upset the builder again......just noticed doorframe fitted is for an internal opening one.......plans showed external opening........he's not so happy about having to replace it, but he has agreed to.
Progress today was a lot better as weather has improved, he managed to get a fair bit done.
I know the feeling. That daily inspection of what’s been done, the phone call that evening, the rework the next day and the painful conversation at the end of the job when the contract has over run by eight weeks, I seek to apply the penalty clauses and then hold the retention payment. Ten years ago, but it still seems like yesterday....
