Taken from press release
Ours is number 33
The car comes in a choice of arresting new colours; Island Blue, Mulberry Red or Old English White.
Limited to 250 models in the UK, the car will be on sale from 5 April.
Sitting on 13″ sports alloy wheels with body-colour wheelarch extensions, the Mini 40 LE also sports twin spot lamps and a large bore tailpipe which pay homage to Mini’s competition history. Even the badging is special, with chrome ‘GB’ badge on the rear, an anniversary decal on the bodyside and a gold-plated Mini 40 badge on the bonnet.
The interior boasts colour-keyed leather seats with contrasting piping and the same leather treatment extends to the facia header, handbrake and gearknob. A striking alloy facia, gives a sporting look reminiscent of historic racing Minis, and incorporates a high-quality ICE system complete with CD player and Goodmans ICT speakers. Additional facia-mounted instruments with chrome detailing complete the look.

Ok ... started to do bits and pieces to engine , interior and suspension...will cover these midget gems later.. may as well start with the biggie ( wasn’t he a rapper?)
The door skins had started to bow out at top a little and a couple of tiny holes appeared in floor pan . So my long standing bodywork friend had a ferret around .... and ?

J- you want it done properly!
Me- yes, it’s a solid car
J - It’s gonna need a couple of door skins
Me - no bother
J- and some floor sections
Me- thought it might
J- inner and outer sills
Me- oh,
J- Both A panels
Me- wait, what?
J- both wings
Me - is it warm in here ?
J - front panel
Me- seriously who’s turned up the heating?
J - rear valance repair
Me- it’s ridiculous , it’s like it’s 200 degrees
J - and full respray for a proper job
Me - I need to lie down ........ on the motorway

Standard Mini stuff so no guarantee that another one would've been any better. That front wing is absolutely shocking though. I guess it's not really much of a surprise given just how "much" rustproofing Rover did back in 1999...
