Followed the Police car thread, amazing, fantastic work. This is another level..to be doing this in a car park, at night and through an English winter (x2!) is truely amazing..utmost respect to you. I saw further back in this thread your purchase of Dotty..do you a thread up on here for that?..I can't seem to find anything? I have bookmarked all your threads Thanks. I haven’t started a thread in here for Dotty, but I have been uploading videos of the progress on YouTube. In the last videos I actually drove it for the first time. The plan was get it mobile then take it home, however someone stole my car trailer so it’s stranded at work now. ☹️

Super exciting happy time! I finally got a break in the weather and my work to weld the rear quarter on. I'm sure my work loves me. Two piles of scrap in the car park, lots of noise and mess. Still,, its Saturday and no one is around. Made two small filler pieces to act as shelves for the rear panel, where it joins the C and D-pillars. That way i could get maximum heat penetration, and grind it smooth without worrying about overly thin metal that would later crack. Tacked in Loads of fettling later, ready to weld Welding in progress Several hours later, the wing is on!

Great that you are ploughing on with this one Jim - Given the conditions & temperature most people would have sacked it off long ago

Thanks. Took most of the day. How is your fleet? As you’ve seen the Alfa 155 20vt is mot’d but got upgrades to brakes, turbo and 3” exhaust to do to it. Fiat coupe 20vt needs servicing, wheels refurb, rust treatment, under seal and good clean. alfa 156 Gta has just been mot’d. Just thinking which one to do next the Alfa 155 v6 has been off the road since 2013 when mot run out. I’ve done 5 days on it and have most of the bits to sort it or the Alfa 33 1.7ie which I’ve got most of the parts to sort it this has been off the road since 2003 but only owned it for about a year. I’m liking the silver sd1 that you’ve got shame it’s not a original v8 but still cool

Dee’s golf mk1 needs mot in mid January which was advisories of both front brake hoses and front pads. Have Vauxhall vectra calipers which are bigger so need to get her tsw venoms refurb and tyres

not like me to miss the arrival of a new rover... i will go outside and flog myself with an ep90 coated copy of the labour manifesto as penance! That silver one is code named Dotty. It started life as a series 1.5 (transition model) and as a lowly 2300 with a 2.3 6 cylinder. It was a proper base spec model with brown poverty spec interior, non sunroof shell, clear glass, and keep fit windows. However it has been modified with a v8 and manual box, 40 pot calipers and vented discs, braided lines, oil cooler, modified anti roll bar, alloys and a few other bits. I rescued it last year and brought it to work to fix up before taking it home. But someone stole my trailer so now its stranded in the office car park! I havent done a thread on here for it but have done some videos.
