Hi everybody!
I'm Yannick and live in Belgium. I have i 64 bug from Sweden that I bought in 2011 (original). From the start I just know how it would look like
First i replaced all the brakes and fixed the wiring. The original 1200 cc engine has been removed and i added a 1835cc engine with a rancho gearbox. Good for 103,5hp and 165Nm torque. Fun street engine
The front has been lowered and I've added BRM wheels.
Then I've wrecked one of the wheels (whooops) and decided to change to Erco's.
Renowed the upholstery and mounted gauges
And then my favorite photo
This is how she looked like until June 2015.
One my way back home from a meet the (new) fuellpump broke down. When I got back home I decided to restore the car.
Sandblasted, welded (only two corners) and painted the chassis
Renewed everything (even the parts that already have been replaced ) and mounted disc brakes in front
The body needed more work
back from sandblasting
Car had an accident and was badly restored
Bought a donor part from a car in California
Like new
Day moulding fenders
Painted the wheel arches and underside of the body. Last week the body went to the bodyshop for painting!
Can't wait to get her back!
The color is not the original color but something else
It's a Porsche color since I also have a 911 steeringwheel from 64/65 and 911 headlight glasses and 914 seats
Deadline is June 2019. The meeting I went to when the car broke down will be the first meeting I will go to when she is ready
I'll keep you posted!
