I'm really hoping to bring my SSC STYLUS for tracktime in 2019 . Did Retrorides in my Alfa GTAm in MAY 2018 but busy working on it this winter . My 13yr old grandson wanted to passenger with me but was too young , so contacted Goodwood to check his position in MAY 2019 . Apparently he has to be 14yrs and show a passport or birth certificate , he won't be 14yrs till NOV 2019 so still too young , a shame.
This is my SSC STYLUS which I'm hoping the RETRORIDES team will let me bring for tracktime in 2019 ----- I fnished the 2 year build in 1998 , so she almost qualifies as classic at 20yrs old

When RR say they're planning to run a 'Sprint' arrangement, is this the same as 2018 or are your plans to amend it.? What was the feedback from this year?
We don't plan to make any changes to the track format or layout
TBH we tend to evolve slowly - evolution rather than revolution - the track approach worked fairly well last time and what we need to focus on isn't the track but the feed in - feed out and lunchtime change over.
We get that right and I'll be happy - I'll then try and up the track element a notch for 2020
Mazda rotary have to be just about the best sounding internal combustion engine there has ever been. I looked after their press fleet back in '92 and we got to see the Le Man car. That and the West McLaren F1 race car and the 2 cars I remember most from being a younger man and experiencing them in the flesh.
If you're in Mark-996C2, I think I may well join you! The rate your M3 is progressing at, it'll be a chalk n cheese comparison!
I *may* have a CSL airbox on by then, and even my CSL brakes, but TBH alot hangs on what happens in March closer to home .
Either way, I'll be at Goodwood .
ChasR Most people know how "we" play this activity - "we" want variety of marques and models representing our base - it's a retro event so last thing "we" want is a whole bunch of modern stuff but "we" reserve the right to flex the rules a little to cope with stuff on the cusp, stuff that's a little different even if slightly too new and that includes ones featured in build/ownership threads on here as representative of our home base.
No Guarantees ever given but that's how "we" play this thing and over the years I've seen very few complaints about the variety or selection so "we" can't be doing to badly at the way "we" do it.
Also I've not got my knuckles rapped by HoTWire yet although I've probably come close as has HoTWire himself has in past in terms of us both pushing something thro that wasn't strictly in the remit with reasons behind it.
Quite tempted with this. It's A hell of a drive but would be worth it.
How flexible would you be on the track time? I'm a bit torn on car, have an MX5 that would be fun on both sprint and autosolo but would rather come in corvette which is 4 years too new. But it's as loud and offensive as Donald's farts after half a dozen Macdonald's.
The RR events are the ones I look forward to most and I was really grateful for our being allowed to shoot some footage for the Petrolicious video on my E30 M3. Admittedly I would have liked more of it to have made the final cut, so that people who've never been could see just what a great mix of cars and people make the show what it is, but overall I pretty happy.
Obviously the E30 has moved on to pastures new and I'm well aware that at a mere 17 years old, its replacement isn't quite the staple of the RR forum. That said, the good folk of Retro Rides have impeccable taste and I'm sure they can see and enjoy a future or modern classic like the E46 M3 and who doesn't appreciate the sound of high revving straight sixes? That said, I appreciate that those people with older, more 'RR' vehicles will get priority and I certainly don't want to stir the complaint pot but given the chance I'll definitely be there at Goodwood.
And if so is it okay to take children round in car seats? Obviously not racing but thinking more of a parade lap to take Ethan round in the proton.
It wasn't one at a time last year 5 cars on track set off at timed intervals - even setting off last it is likely that you would be caught very quickly unless moving at a reasonable pace - so no I would discourage entries like that unless I had five of them
