That was awesome. The weekend was awesome. Well done team retrorides @hotwire. Seriously herculean effort and much appreciated. Such a great selection of cars. Fantastic weekend.
*Frenzied, rapturous applause*
As this is the BNMAC thread though I want to segue into saying how much I loved meeting the BNMACers for the first time and realising what a truly tragic bunch of dorks you all are...
*dorky applause with weird adenoidal honking sounds like what mathematicians make when they spot a hilarious mistake in some long form algebra*
... and also seeing such an immense selection of cars gathered under the prestigious BNMAC masthead. Each and every one of those cars was a thing to inspire and delight the crowd
*manly hot rod grease-monkey applause with ocasssional gun shots*
And thankfully none of those cars were anywhere near as good as my awesome dream machine
*just me clapping in the vast emptiness of space, and some tumble weed*
So that was all ruddy great.
Apparently there were some BNMAC cars not parked with the main throng (that says throng not thong), but I didnt notice those personally as I refuse to look at anyone else's cars... so if you made it today but couldn't get onto the main BNMAC stand...
1. Apologies for the fact you were annexed elsewhere. Totally my fault by the way... I was pessimistic about how many would actually show up when giving final numbers to the organisers... I didnt want to demand a huge space and then have three cars show up.
2. It would be great if you could add photos of your cars - at the event - to this thread, for BNMAC posterity even though you were parked elsewhere. don't say you didnt photograph your own car today, you know you totally did you hapless attention whores.
3. If you would like a commemorative BNMAC sticker then PM me and drop me your address and I'll post one to you. I only have 7 left so please don't let there be more than 7 of you who were exiled or I'm in trouble.
*prisoner of war style applause for those courageous BNMACrs who were exiled in isolation*
The BNMAC Man Of The Match award goes to @johhnybravo and his faithful sidekick samta22
for doing things none of us would have ever have had the enthusiasm to do... which is even more impressive considering they weren't even signed up as members of the club stand.
*cricket match applause for Johnny Bravo and Samta22*
A second award for endurance goes to Tom The Sparky for managing to put up with a bunch of world-weary middle aged blokes for an entire weekend, and not falling off his chair on those frequent occasions when the language, and sometimes the subject matter too, got a bit ripe.
Also, he said my car looks like an American car, which is what the kids say these days when they mean "its easily best car here".
*teenager style applause here, which is probably dabbing or flossing or pointing at some cornicing like Usain Bolt*
The No Mates Even Over The Longest Distance award has to go to the Dutchies Thomas, Anton (< that's spelled wrong, I know, sorry Antouijnk) and Dennis, because they crossed borders and oceans to get here and they make it seem like a trip to the local shop.
*Eurovision style applause*
But it's a shared prize with the Nuneaton mafia because they also had a massive trek and brought their ruddy lovely Supercharged Moggy with them, and a ruddy sodding Blydenstein liveried Firenza... which I did do a bit of love wee on by mistake sorry about that fellas it'll peel off once it sets.
*Larry Grayson style applause here*
(because Larry was from Nuneaton)
BNMAC goes from strength to strength, gaining followers, power and influence with every passing show. The cars are more incredible, the stickers are getting bigger, the swagger more swaggering, and I'm already working on some special outfits for us to wear at the Gathering, and an electro-disco dance routine that we need to rehearse before August.
