anyone else love this type of style? Haven't seen a thread With these types of paint jobs and cars so feel free to add more. Some people will hate it but I can’t help thinking I really want an American lowrider, with the crazy suspension and paint job. Although I probably never will as I haven’t got the money, space and I don’t want to sell the cars I currently have.

Yes, I'm also a big fan of these "panel" paint jobs. The late great Larry Watson is acknowledged as one of the finest artists of this genre.

Some great pics. What cars that are readily available in the uk could pull off a paint job like that?
I think a zephyr would look good.

This thread should yield some interesting ideas RR Unusual bombsA Humber Hawk is very mid-50s styled, but basically anything 60s/70s should work. Jag XJ6??

Some crazy attention to detail,
I can see a basic paint job costing more than the cars value, I think my Capri would look good with a panel paint job.

This has to be one of my favourites of this style. Hush Hush" 1967 Oldsmobile. Formerly ran with los Bolevardos car club who specialise in these cars that sit on the line between custom and lowrider. Now lives in Sweden by all accounts.

My little parts chaser/work horse is due a winter make over and may very well gain some lace/panel paintwork. I have a newly acquired airbrush and some candies etc. Will be keeping the Pearl Violet main colour though.

And a more trad (but Brit) interpretation is one of these..... (If I can find a solid 2 door example) ....with some of this goodness applied + some elaborate Larry Watson inspired paint.

There was a beautiful green one (fastback coupe) in Custom Car or Street Machine many years, saw it in the flesh near Bournemouth once... While searching I found this: (images courtesy of www.norfolkstreetcruisers.co.uk) Think you're on to a winner there!

Yes, the Consul Capris have quite rightly come in for a lot of attention over the years. I kinda want to apply the treatment to the underdog Classic 315 though, preferably a 2 door but a 4 door would work at a pinch!
