I always have a soft spot for these, some years back, one evening myself and an old RR face called Hirst, were looking through Japanese importers websites, and the auto translation had renamed a certain version of a Leopard into "Leopard J Ferryboat". Best comedy name ever! haha well it is a bit of a ferryboat, absolutely huge! About the same length as a new 5 series.

Very cool! I'll have to send a link to this thread to a friend of mine who has the US market version (Infiniti M30). haha thanks and no problem. He may have already seen it if he's on M30 facebook page. I had not seen it yet, but I must say it's stunning!

I think that thing looks awesome, and that's really saying something as its at least 30 years newer than the stuff I usually like. It's great.

That looks so good inside and out. Bookmarked - can't wait to see more of the big slabby breeze block haha thanks..just got couple subtle changes planned on the short term. And of course all the rust is currently being sorted before we hit winter! I have a SB3 Civic Motul replica track car to build first so this one will most likely be going into storage and only coming out very occasionally! I think that think looks awesome, and that's really saying something as its at least 30 years newer than the stuff I usually like. It's great. haha yes, well the 80's is my favourite era of cars. It was an era of belief and strong constructive competition between manufacturers all over the world. Now, with the enforcement of all these new rules and regulations, they all offer pretty much the same product that are all similar and mundane to drive! Thanks dude!

Thats a nice ride! It shares the chassis with the Laurel C32 and Skyline R31. The engine looks like my VG30DET.

I remember seeing one of these for sale a few years back, they are very cool Thanks dude, maybe the same one as I've been informed it's very likely the only one in the country.. My VG30DET is for sale BTW.... Lovely motor, looks very tidy that! Yes, that's the turbo variant of the same engine in mine. Thanks for the offer but with 80k miles, mine is far from redundant! Will be detailing similar to yours. If I ever decide to change engines, it will most likely be the 300zx twin turbo engine or maybe if I'm feeling adventurous and go RB

The DETT won't fit because of the second turbo. It would hit the steering shaft. RB is nice but only a 2.5L so in my eyes a step backwards... ;-)

In that case it would need to be DET with 1 big 'fak off' turbo lol. haha yeah I did have that thought but I really like the flexibility and tuning options with RB engines... I can't speak for J prices on these 7 and half years ago, but prices for these in Japan are going up at a astonishing rate. The face lift models are still quiet cheap but the pre face lift models are going for silly money! They seem to be much rarer too. www.goo-net-exchange.com/usedcars/NISSAN/LEOPARD/700050227630170609001/index.htmlwww.goo-net-exchange.com/usedcars/NISSAN/LEOPARD/700050227630160217001/index.html

So bit of a update.. I was led to believe there was only some minor scabbing and corrosion on the very ends of the sills.. Unfortunately, previous owner had vehicle fully resprayed without treating or dealing with any of the rust so it took an awful long time for body shop to unmask all the rust.. It meant I had to spend a lot more than I wanted to to have it all removed and repaired properly to give this motor another leash of life. There were some more pics of the extent of rust and progression of repair but they were lost when I smashed my phone. However, it's all been cut out, rust treated, plates welded back in, ground back, and sprayed over with hammerite. Opted to have recovered areas sprayed in hammerite for the time being as there were some large unexpected costs thrown my way as more and more rust was uncovered behind paintwork. She'll be going back in this summer for a spray up in correct color. At least she's fully solid now! Gave the old girl a wash over the weekend too.. Also, a new addition to the collection, an EG Coupe ! Always loved these, handling is phenomenal !

nice one (y). Forgot to mention before; raised up the coilovers by 35mm to give it a more motorsport/less slammed stance and replaced the busted PAS pump with a non-hicas 300zx z32 one (after a bit of research).

Not much to update... Since getting rid of rust, raising car, replacing power steering pump and general services, the main update is just being able to use her with complete peace of mind ! Got some wheels en-route from Japan, what do you think? Also realigned that steering wheel: Oh yeah, and I removed that windscreen strip sticker a while back, here's how she looks now.. I'm completely useless at updating on these forums, but have began with another project, Hopefully get a write up out there soon !

perfect wheel choice fr€$h&m1nt¥ - Thank you sir, good to hear that. Couple inch smaller than current ones, but going for a more comfortable, meatier tire set up..
