So in my wisdom I decided that my perfectly reliable and comfortable E39 wasn't for me. I had only really used it at weekends as I had a company vehicle but a change of jobs meant lots more travel so a replacement was required.
Looked at bland diesel Polos and Civics but my heart wasn't in it. "Its just a car" says my wife but I couldn't face rocking around in something so bland and faceless.

90k miles MOT till August and 1.6 auto power!
Won with a maiden bid on Ebay and collected after a mission. Kings Lynn is 1.5 hours from Northampton but having no one to give me a lift I had to get the train to Euston, tube to Kings cross then another train to Kings Lynn.
Interesting drive home with a super stiff throttle and serious flat spot between 20 and 40 mph but made it home ok with a smile on my face.
Was up early this morning before the kids awoke to have a few hours of cleaning and tinkering.
Started with a detox wash, rinse, clay bar then wash and wax. Special formula on the plastics and we have this
Bit more cleaning required but looks loads better.
Got a set of wheels to go on next and the tow bar will be gone.
Plans are get a Weber on it and a slight drop.
The rear valance and badge panel need taking down to bare metal and paint sorting and there a few other minor bits.
Underneath and floors look solid so not a great deal to do.
